I agree, killing any animal for entertainment is abhorrently wrong in every way.

I am sure not a single member of this forum would approve. I read the article in this morning's Guardian and, later when I met a villager on the common today I talked to him about it because I know that he acts as a beater when the local landowner has shoots. He told me that every member of the shoot pays the landowner £1,000 for a day's shooting and he as a beater gets £30 for the day. How immoral is this to spend all that money for the "fun" of killing a defenceless creature.
