Eric , i wonder what your thoughts are of the pylons  I found myself looking at them looming over the countryside .. for the moment i had a different view of them . Like great giants tall and appearing through the mist . There was an attraction where in the past i was none too happy about them . as i'm not with the wind turbines now . I suppose after time we just get used to seeing them there

I have very mixed feelings Jen. There are some places where they seem very grand and majestic striding across the countryside, in others where a beautiful view is ruined by them. I have seen wind farms where the cluster of wind turbines looked rather grand, and others where I wish they simply weren't there. It is difficult to generalise.

I agree Eric , what they do for us is undeniable ... it's the appearance in many positions which is the bug bare

I didn't know where to post this, this seems the best place.

Did any of you photograph the solar eclipse on the 20th March 2015? I decided to give it a go as I've never done it before and we don't get many eclipes as good as this one. I took these shots from the Malvern Hills, there are too many photos to post so here's a link. http://www.pbase.com/john1946/solar_eclipse_20th_march_2015

Great photos of the eclipse, John. I took the day off work but I was concentrating on photographing Hares that day.

Lovely New Year's Eve sunset, Eric.

Pam, that looked extremely chilly at Upton Warren.

It was a bit Ann!!! I was just glad to be out & about. I was on crutches as I had my ankle screwed due to arthritis & sat in the hide while my husband wondered around :)
