I saw this on Facebook yesterday :yes it looks a fantastic project that when completed will be a brilliant resource, We have had some great sightings in church/grave yards over the past couple of years, from Wildflowers to some rare fungi and inset sightings

:thanks: that's excellent news Dave , at last there's more recognition as to the value of churchyards and burial grounds . Caring for Gods Acre will be able to supply some good info and figures .. they've been active for some years now :cool3:

This is such a fantastic survey to undertake and full credit to all those that will participate over the next four years or so. Graveyards do hold such a rich biodiversity with some very rare species, many of which go unrecorded, but this thankfully will change now.

Some of our best sightings within our county have come from graveyards/churches or the grounds in close proximity.

 Jane , years ago i sent off for and received a 'pack' from God's Acre . I can't remember the exact format but they sent papers / forms to be completed over time with details of plants and attracted insects .

That would be a great job and such a worthwhile undertaking (no pun meant on the undertaking!)

It sounds like a huge task but very well worth it,it is a great idea.

Just to be able to look online for sightings as well as looking for graves for family research would be brilliant :cool3:
