Woodland Trust records show more evidence that spring is arriving earlier in the UK.

It's quite hard to believe at the moment but we have had daffodils out for some time and now they are under snow, as are our primroses, also blooming.

What made me hopeful of spring during the cold of the last few days is the continued singing of the birds. They were cold and hungry but still singing.

The wildlife might think it's spring but after battling on at work in the snow, I'm now going into hibernation for the weekend!

:) the ' landscape of yellow hawthorn ' made me smile ..... do they mean yellow gorse ?

I think we've been noting here all the Sign's of Spring that we'd expect to see at this time of year .
Daffs and snowdrops have flowered in January for a long time now , but i have noticed more catkins than usual .

Nature always seems to bounce back after these cold snaps so hopefully it won't be too long before the birds are nest building again.

I hope the spring flowers will all be okay once the snow melts off them.

An interesting read Dave

:fingersx: the Spring flowers will survive being buried under all this snow :yep:

I've noticed House Sparrows have been in and out of the House Martin next today, so they must be starting to think about nesting :)

Looks like the Daffs down our side path have taken a bit of a hammering under the snow.

That's a shame, Dave. My eighty new daffs seem to have coped quite well with the snow, just waiting for them to flower now.

They might recover Ann now the snow has started to thaw.
