amazing stuff !.... i remember ,years ago ,a Swan head up traffic on the Alexandria parade in Glasgow's east end . it must have mistaken the road for a river or canal ....there's a pond in the nearby park so maybe that was it's intended destination . it's a busy road though and the traffic had to wait until it ran along ,gathering speed for take off !

Incredible sight Dave, it looks as though they were eating the grit/salt that had been dropped on the road. I've seen birds doing that before, but not in such large numbers.

Audrey, I've seen Collared Doves and Pigeons pecking the grit/sand around the grit bins here too.

Yes, grit is a big draw. In weather like this I mix in some bird cage grit with the bird food.
That's a great sight.

HA ...so it's their fault all our roads are grinding to a halt !!! :angry: time for a CULL , I'd say !!!! ;) :giggle:
I actually thought it was spilled grain at first :paul:
