Now in its seventh year, the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards received nearly 180,000 votes from almost 30,000 people in a range of categories including Beach of the Year, National Park of the Year and Conservation Success of the Year.

I think there will be places in the winning list that some of you have visited

Jan , thank you for that link . Several places i've visited but by no means all of them .. and here they are , albeit on our doorsteps .

The Northumberland Park is , as they say , empty .. and that's what makes it so special .

The Lost gardens of Heligan , is a lovely, interesting place to visit . I'm going again in August

It's good to see that The Marine Conservation Society has been recognised for it's untiring efforts

Northumberland is precisely that, beaches that are near enough empty.

Thank you for the link, Jan. So much to try to cram into our short lives and never enough time for it all.
