Great photo of an avocet, Dave. I know one or two firms that put Avocet in their name. I once asked a young man why he called his firm Avocet Roofing. His reply was simply because beginning with A brought him near the front in the phone book and Yellow Pages which it made it more likely people would ring him. I didn't think to ask him why he hadn't thought of Aardvark :o)
