The site where the mega rare American Bittern is currently residing at has been given a huge lottery funding boost

I think ( and i hope ) the fact about the American Bittern is a way of obtaining a headline

Surely the money has been awarded to the Suffolk Marshes where there is a wealth of local wildlife . Just as an aside , the American bittern happened on the scene :yep:

Lets hope we concentrate on the local wildlife and are not distracted by those who are blown of course which is a sad story for them

I would say that the grant was well in the pipeline before the Bittern turned up but as a PR exercise it has worked brilliantly and put the reserve on the map. There is a wealth of other wildlife in the area so that should secure it's status for the future and hopefully propel the site to the heights of one of Suffolk's premier nature reserves.
