Post here if you'd be interested in spending a couple hours of your precious time playing a quick, fun, beer & pretzels WWI minis game. Trench Wars is not about charts, diagrams, or any of the complex stuff historicals can get bogged down in - it's about pushing around lots of lead and having fun. Worth it just to see Dan's WWI terrain! |

The scale is what you weigh things on. |

Ok, Iwill get a game together. scale:28mm skirmish I will bring about 200 figs or more as I woudl expect about 5 players.... each woudl run 40ish figs each depending on if they use tanks or special weapons also. The system is very easy and the game is very pretty as I have lots of very cool scenery for it. When should I look at planning this event? I will need at least a 4x6 table. |

I am ready to run a Trench Wars game.... I would like at least 5 players, from there we can set up a play date, lol. It is a LOT of stuff to lug around. Each player will basically control a WW1 platoon, remember, it is a skirmish game, so each person will have, depending on platoon type, 40 or so soldiers, nco's and officers. This could include tanks or some sort of heavy weapons, like flame throwers, heavy machineguns, artillery or mortars, etc... maybe even some airplanes. Just let me know what you think and who woudl like to play. |

How long do these games usually last? I want to get a Father's Day WH game in (yes, I'm being selfish!
), and with time permitting, I'd be interested in throwing down.Off a tangent here....would 40 soldiers be more like a company? |

I'm in. Unless there are enough other people who've never played that want to give it a try - then I'll sit out. |

A game can run as long as you want to play...kind of..... if you are pressed for time.... send your platoon in to charge that machine gun nest. You will realize that the game can last (for that crazy player) only 2 turns, lol. On army structure.... it is how the author calls out the units, they were different in WW1 also. A regular "unit: is about 2 officers, 4 NCOs, 27 riflemen and the rest are specialty troops depending on the scenario. They could be MG, grenadiers, mortars, a tank, whatever. |
