Gamers with Families
Family is so much more important than games. Gaming for me is done in binges. We are kind of different. My wife is a bit of a germaphobe. If any of us get sick, we quarantine ourselves for as long as we are sick (plus 7 days to make sure we aren't contagious). That is pretty much the only time I play video games any more. I sometimes play Little Big Planet or Goat Simulator with my daughter.

November Game of the Month Vote Off
Here are our 5 nominations! Thanks to all who nominated. I look forward to seeing who comes out on top :yeah:

7 Days to Die
Just picked this up for PS4 last night. Anybody else tried it? My early attempts had me frustrated not knowing the controls. I died on both my 2nd and 3rd day from wild dog attacks. I watched some Youtube videos and am restarting tonight to focus on improving my strategy!

The concept of gathering/crafting/building is a great combo, especially when paired with zombies. Simple graphics aside, it was fun. It was freaky to cower in the upper corner of a run down farm house while hearing them trying to break in to the house all night long.

Hoping some others here have some valuable insight :yeah:

Post When You Buy or Sell Any Game
Bought 7 Days to Die last night for PS4. Looking forward to digging in to it.

My introduction
Welcome to Nintendo 64 Forever, David. Glad to have you :yeah:

November Game of the Month Nomination Topic
Time for nominations once again, but lately we have a made some changed to GotM. I am now including an eligible game list to help folks know what games are open for nomination.

Here is how it works:

Each member gets to nominate 1 game that was not in the top 20 in sales. The topic will remain open for a week to ten days. At which point, I will write each of the nominations on a piece of paper, and draw 5 total out of a bowl.

Those 5 will then be put to a vote for the rest of the month to decide the official "Nintendo 64 Forever Game of the Month". You may nominate a game already chosen by another member if you wish too, but only one piece of paper per game nominated will be put in to the bowl. If someone has already nominated a game you wished to nominate, please consider going with your 2nd choice. Those nominated that are not drawn out as well as the 4 that lose the vote will be eligible for re-nomination next month if you so choose.

In case anybody is lost here, the idea is for you to play the winning game for a bit, and then
comment on your thoughts after playing. We used to discuss things like game play, graphics, sound, controls, replay value, as well as how the game has stood the test of time. This is a great chance to discover fun games you perhaps missed out on. Also please feel free to participate by sharing thoughts and memories of the game.

If you do not own the winning game; perhaps consider borrowing, buying, emulation, or perhaps even check for it on the virtual console.
Any questions? Just ask away...

What (game) brought you (back) to the N64?
I never strayed to far, but...

If I had to give credit to any game(s) for bringing me back, I would have to give the nod to Road Rash, Mario Kart, Perfect Dark, and Pilot Wings. Those draw me back at least once or twice a year. I would give Mario 64 some credit too, but I had it on Wii as well. I often just played it on there.

South Park
Nice. If I have some time towards the end of the month I may borrow my bro in laws copy. We are going on vacation the 28th-4th, and I might get a little window to play it.

How is your shoe game? What are your nicest pair of shoes?
That's awesome they are releasing them again :yeah:

"More About You" - Suggestions Wanted
Awesome, that will be next!

How is your shoe game? What are your nicest pair of shoes?
Well this is all making for a good read so far.

No64DD - I had a nice pair of airwalks once, but when they were given to me they were a touch small. Never got to really enjoy them.

Goldfinger 64 has been released!!!!
I love that people are still making stuff like this. 20 years later, and here we are.

Underrated gaming series
I can't think of any series of games per say...

but as for individual games

N64 - Road Rash. I still enjoy playing it! Sure it looked like an unpolished turd, but it was FUN!
PS2 - Gun. Sure it was received well, but I have never played a game start to finish so many times in my life. An early peek at what RDR became.
PS3 - Saboteur. What an amazing blend of GTA, Assassin's Creed, and Hitman.

Watcha Listenin' To?
Still remember the first time I heard their cover of Brick in the Wall. Also was a huge fan of Word Up :yeah:

"More About You" - Suggestions Wanted
Just used your idea No64DD. Anybody else have any suggestions?

How is your shoe game? What are your nicest pair of shoes?
Special thanks to No64DD for the suggestion.

By now you all probably know the game...

Shoes are a BIG deal to some folks. Some have an obsession, or a solid collection at least. Tell me about yours!

I have always had to deal with limited selection of shoes. I have an abnormally large foot. I am only 5'10", but wear a size 14/48. I wore a size 12 in 6th grade. The problem I run in to now is that a lot of dress shoe companies do not manufacture anything larger than a 13. Sometimes that means settling for a not so great looking pair.

At work I wear a pair of Cognac colored Eccos. My pair before that was a pair of slip on Clarks.
When away from work, I typically wear some awful looking 11 year old Nikes. I wore them sporadically for years. I need to replace them soon, and will hopefully be picking up some Merrell hiking boot style shoes pr perhaps some Sketchers.

As a teen I preferred Nikes or Fila. I had several pair of Grant Hills.

i am very hard on shoes. I think my longer foot requires the sole to bend more than it normally would with a normal foot when I walk around. I have been known to destroy a sole on a decent pair of shoes in 3 months or less :nope:

Is Nintendo losing it?

Curious if stinger still holds to his initial comments post-Switch ;)

I still do, but perhaps with more reservation. I do think Breath of the Wild looks like a superb title. I would no doubt enjoy it. I like that it will have Skyrim, but having sunk 600 hours on across 2 consoles AND having been spoiled by mods, I don't know if it would excite me all that much.

I am far more curious about the Switch than I ever was about the Wii or Wii U. So I guess that is some improvement. Time will tell :yeah:

South Park
South Park won the vote off with a strong showing.

I never owned the game, but had a couple of friends that both did. I was a teen when it came out. South Park being the naughty/crude show that it was, drew my attention. The game was not a masterpiece by any means. I had fun playing it though. I enjoyed chunking pee covered snowballs at turkeys

Cartman was probably my fav to play as. I was very glad the game featured alternative control options since I was awful with Turok style controls. So "Brown-Eye" it was

Call it cheap, unpolished, crude, etc... It was still entertaining enough for me :yeah:

"Die evil turkeys, Die!"

October Game of the Month Vote Off
South Park is our winner. Topic to follow shortly
