Need Help on how to deal with bullying and high school
Luke, I am sorry to hear about you being bullied.

I am in no way encouraging violence as a response... That being said, find a good martial arts school. Learning martial arts will greatly improve your physical conditioning, and as a result your self confidence. More importantly, you will be learning to defend yourself. I got bullied at a young age too. My school was not as small as yours, but my class had less than 50 people in it. By the time word spread I was in martial arts, most would be bullies fell by the wayside. The ones that still persisted folded when they saw I wouldn't back down. I had many fights from ages 6-12. After starting MMA at 13, I have had one fight in the next 18 years. It lasted about 3 seconds and required only one punch to end ;)

Don't go looking for trouble. Be yourself, be friendly, but don't be a coward. That will only make them keep bullying you. At some point if you have to make a stand, you will be better able to defend yourself. It may sound like I am advocating violence, but look closely at my own story. In a six year span before MMA I had over a half dozen fights as a result of bullies. I didn't look for a one of those fights. After taking MMA, one fight. It came at the result of a bullying attempt as well. So for me taking MMA resulted in an end to bullying and Far less confrontations.

I will throw this out there too, people talk about being "fair" in a fight. There is no "fair" or "unfair". When people start losing, they will resort to what they think is necessary. That being said... If you are forced to act, first chance you get try to hit them in the groin or solar plexus (where their ribs meet in an upside down v right below their chest, knocks the wind out of them). If you are successful, Things will most likely go your way. I have been in MMA for 18 years. I have been teaching for 13 years now. My students are undefeated when going against folks outside of our "clan". For myself and them, martial arts has solved a lot of life's problems :)

I teach a MMA system that comprises many styles. Muay Thai, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Submission Wrestling, Khihido Karate, and Brazilian Ju Jutsu. I recommend Ju Jutsu/Judo, Muay Thai/Kick Boxing, Wing Chun, or Krav Maga as styles for self defense. If you cant find any of the above, seek out a traditional karate or tae kwon do school. Boxing is great as well if you can't find a more well rounded alternative :)

Message me if you have any questions

A Typical Day in the Life
Dee, as I get older it isn't working for me quite as well  I stay sleepy all the time, and once or twice a week I seem to pass out at 7 or 8 o'clock for a couple hour long nap.

I used to could run on 4 hours for years :-8

May Game of the Month Vote Off
Just an update - Despite the information in the list on wikipedia we use, Wipeout WAS indeed released in PAL format. It will be given an automatic bid into next months vote off to make up for the mistake. Sorry for the error.

May Game of the Month Nomination Topic
Thanks for the information guys. I had no idea, as the wikipedia game list I go off of is apparently incorrect. I will try to remember to give Wipeout an automatic shoe in for the vote off next month to make up for it :yeah:

May Game of the Month Vote Off
Not too many nominations this month. Here are the eligible nominated games.

May Game of the Month Nomination Topic
Harvest Moon and Wipeout are not elligle as they weren't released in pal format. The poll will be up in a bit.

What's Your Gaming Story?
Thanks, you all as well! Great topic by the way :D

May Game of the Month Nomination Topic
Hello everyone, Welcome to the Game of the Month nomination topic.

Here is how it works:
Each member gets to nominate 1 game that was not in the top 20 in sales. The topic will remain open for the first half of the month. At which point, I will write each of the nominations on a piece of paper, and draw 5 total out of a bowl.
Those 5 will then be put to a vote for the rest of the month to decide the official "Nintendo 64 Forever Game of the Month". You may nominate a game already chosen by another member if you wish too, but only one piece of paper per game nominated will be put in to the bowl. If someone has already nominated a game you wished to nominate, please consider going with your 2nd choice. Those nominated that are not drawn out as well as the 4 that lose the vote will be eligible for re-nomination next month if you so choose.

In case anybody is lost here, the idea is for you to play the winning game for a bit, and then
comment on your thoughts after playing. We used to discuss things like game play, graphics, sound, controls, replay value, as well as how the game has stood the test of time. This is a great chance to discover fun games you perhaps missed out on.

If you do not own the winning game; perhaps consider borrowing, buying, renting (anybody still rent n64 games?), or find another way of playing (emulation) or perhaps even check for it on the virtual console.
Any questions? Just ask away...
