Super Smash Bros WiiU Tournament

@Grizz, yeah defensive types (specially campers) can be tedious to play. But, everyone has its own strategy that we have to respect. And even thought it can be boring and frustrating I like the occasional camper because it's the perfect opportunity for me to practice against that style, projectiles and getting closer to my opponent :)

Projectile spammers are fun to play against for the first few seconds of the match, that is until they realize that my Wario can swallow most projectiles rendering that part of their strategy useless. From that point forward these camper types usually just run away for the remainder of the match. Boring! :-/

RocMan and me could probably form a formidable team given that he's close enough to mitigate the effects of lag. BTW RocMan, who do you main in Sm4sh?

^ Cool video, No64DD!

One of my favorite franchises that isn't on a Nintendo console is the Armored Core series. Not only is it known for its groundbreaking Mecha combat but also for its unique music. Here's just one tune from the Silent Line release called Monkey Likes Daddy. That name belies the true nature of the music so go ahead and give it a listen.

We should play with each other and then against you to see if that match is laggy.
I'm on the East Coast of the United States, North Carolina to be exact, so matches against others in my general vicinity will probably be lag free.

In our weekly Mario Kart 8 races, when it was just U.S. contestants, things were smooth as a whistle. It wasn't until we raced against Australians that I noticed some pretty major lag related issues.

Just wanted to mention; many people who play 1-on-1 Smash on-line fight very defensively. I find that to be beyond tedious. Who cares if you win or lose as long as you show what you've got. If you're just going to camp on the edge of the stage and spam projectiles why bother? To be completely honest, I much prefer to play Team Smash but it tends to be more laggy. :-/

You must buy more Amiibo.
Wario is a day one purchase.

Using what I've learned training my other two Amiibo, Wario will ultimately become the supreme embodiment of all my accumulated skill and technique. ;)

Are they going to cross promote it with Mario Kart 8?

Super Smash Bros for 3DS/Wii U
"When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer."

I'm just bummed because now I've leveled both my Donkey Kong and Mario Amiibo up to 50. :P

Super Smash Bros WiiU Tournament
I've played at some of my friend's houses and SSBWiiU was just as laggy there. Granted, there are some matches that are smoother than others but it's still not as good as Super Street Fighter IV on the Xbox 360.

Why don't you guys meet up for some on-line friendlies and let the rest of us know how it works out? I'd love to read about your exploits in the same way that we've shared our Mario Kart 8 Friday night escapades. :)

im surprized Grizz you dont have this ! as a die hard fan of F-Zero, it's a no brainer to have this awesome piece of history
I was tempted to get a DD but I really couldn't justify it for just one game. Yeah, I'm a big F-Zero X fan but the tracks that are on the standard cartridge are enough to make me the skilled racer that I am today. ;)

I always found this YT video discussing the N64DD entertaining.

Super Smash Bros WiiU Tournament
I love on-line tournaments for almost any game but SSBWiiU is so affected by lag the it may not be practical. This especially true since we have members scattered across the entire globe.

Sticking to the 90's theme, I'm listening to Stone Temple Pilots perform Big Empty on MTV Unplugged.

This is ridiculous, I can't believe this. Link
"While it seems excessive, it's just a fraction of the amount of money Daily Dose claims to have committed to amiibo. He says that he has already spent more than $4,000, and that he has an additional $35,000 to invest on the figurines. Of those funds, he states that he intends to spend heavily on Lucina, Palutena, Robin, and Zero Suit Samus -- all out of a similar hatred and disdain that he has for Rosalina."

It's tragic when the mentally unstable of our planet's wealthiest 1% get in to video game and associated memorabilia collecting. <_<

My suspicion is that COD games won't become impressive again until they're developed exclusively for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. However, I understand that it's hard to overlook the large installed userbase of the Xbox 360 and PS3. It is a dilemma to be sure.

Xbox 360 discussion
My friend Jonathan's old Xbox 360 died so he bought a new one from Target today. He got a black 500GB model bundled with Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Ghost for $230. That seems like a pretty good deal to me. Yeah, I know it's old tech but the library of quality titles for the system is huge. Jonathan had to get another one since he has such a big backlog of 360 games he hasn't even played yet including games like Dark Souls.

Gamecube controllers
Many people absolutely adore the GameCube controller and consider it Nintendo's best video game interface. If you fall in to that category you're probably going to enjoy this video.

It's interesting to see how the final product that is still being manufactured and sold today evolved from this prototype.

Official Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Reveal Trailer
I heard that Advanced Warfare was very buggy at launch which really turned me off. Apparently, releasing games with major flaws has become the new normal in the Internet age.

What browser do you use?
A lot of people are starting to complain about a redirect when they try to post on forums. They're calling it the lemode-mgz virus although it doesn't appear to be a true virus or malware. Anybody here experience it yet? It sends users to a Good Housekeeping ad most of the time and it's happening on both IE and Chrome from what I've read.

All in all your right mate. Advanced Warfare was and is a very average game.
Such a shame. :(

I was hoping that the flying aspect would make it similar to the Tribes games that I love so much.

Maybe people are just getting burnt out on the whole first person shooter thing. I know I am.

So I'm thinking this game didn't live up to expectations. Gamestop has is on sale for just $39.99 for all consoles.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Black Ops 3 that takes full advantage of the next-gen console's power.

The Nintendo Amiibo Topic
I went by Gamestop today and was so tempted to pick up a Samus Amiibo. I'm not really a fan of her in Smash or even her own games but that Amiibo sure looks sweet.

Kirby is a great character but for some reason I find his Amiibo uninspiring. I guess you can't expect much from a little pink ball. No wonder all the stores around me still have tons of Kirbys left. I'm seeing a lot of Luigis too which I can kinda understand because his pose doesn't do him justice.
