5 rarest Game consoles
I like the case that the TurboGrafx-16 is in. :yeah:

The Nintendo Switch Topic
I'm so excited for you early adopters who are getting the Switch at launch! :w00t:

Super Smash Bros for 3DS/Wii U
To be completely honest, I don't think that SSBWiiU is a very good 1-on-1 game, but in 4-player FFA it's an absolute blast. X_D

I'm still available for matches for the Wii-u version by the way. I might just be the opponent for you.
I'm very... aggressive, and I suck... hard ;)
I've added you to my friend's list and check to see if you're online every time I boot up the game. Perhaps we can try to arrange some For Fun 4-player free-for-all matches with two other forum members?

Super Smash Bros for 3DS/Wii U
Team Smash is still fun but 1-on-1 For Glory makes it obvious how much I suck at this game. I've now had to resort to using Bowser for cheap wins.

I think the big problem for me when playing SSBWiiU is that I've become too accustomed to the fast pace and rewards for aggressive play that Project M offers. :(

About rare N64 items
A very successful car collector told me one time, "never buy anything you wouldn't mind getting stuck with if the market collapses". I think those are some wise words to live by when collecting video games and accessories as well.

Post When You Buy or Sell Any Game
Found this brand new wired Xbox 360 controller dirt cheap at a local store so I snagged it up immediately.

This is arguably still the best controller for PC gaming.

I feel like I need to watch a Bill Paxton film. Tragic news. RIP Bill Paxton.
Game Over Man, GAME OVER! ;_;

Nintendo 64 not working with new HD TV
Some HDTV's don't recognize the N64's low-res output signal.

What brand is you HDTV? By providing that information you'll get better advice with respect to your particular scenario.

grizz, I think you got it wrong here. it's not reproduction, it's full homebrew. how would they label it reproduction if it's entirely a new game ? doesn't make any sense to me.
Are we still talking about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest? That's not a new game but rather one that was released on the GameCube. Somebody just ported it to the N64 and is making money off of Nintendo's work.
I stand corrected, my zelda knowledge is piss poor. sorry !
Ain't no big thing, my man. Easy mistake to make since Master Quest isn't too well known outside of hardcore Zelda circles.

Hey gamerjerome, thanks for setting us all straight on the specifics. :yeah:

The Wii is the main reason I didn't go all nuts over the NES mini when it came out.
The NES mini didn't do much for me either. To my mind it makes more sense to include some of those 8-bit games as freebies on the Switch as an added incentive for more people to buy the system at launch.

Wii discussion
I'm now collecting original backwards compatible Wii consoles.

The picture shows two white Wii's with Monoprice component cables on top. Behind them is a boxed black Wii that I got for just 10 dollars when I sold off the rest of the lot it came with. :D

The upside on these backwards compatible units is huge given that Super Smash Bros. Melee players covet them. Also, as I've mentioned numerous times, the Wii is a wonderful retro console since so many notable games from yesteryear are available via the Virtual Console service.

What I do know is smaller seems to be better. I plugged my PAL 64 directly into my sisters very small 1080P LCD TV via composite and it actually looked pretty good.
Here in the United States the retailer Best Buy sells a 19 inch Insignia brand LED television for just 70 dollars (66.45 Euro). The set has component and composite inputs as well as a Game Mode to limit input lag. Maybe the N64 would look okay on it but I'm not absolutely sure since I haven't tested it for myself.

Its there a feed somewhere I can subscribe to for when they make more custom repros? Really want one of those!
I guess you can just follow the Retro Junkie World site but I'm pretty sure that what they're doing is illegal.

As I previously stated, I don't have a problem with reproductions as long as they're clearly identified. However, that doesn't mean that Nintendo doesn't have an issue with it.

Also, if these reproductions aren't clearly labelled as such on the plastic cartridge exterior it's highly likely that they'll be misidentified in the future which will have serious impacts on the collector's market.

So I guess all the real rare N64 games are being held by collectors and the only way for third-parties to make money now is by selling counterfeits?

Retrogate Zelda Ocarina of Time Master Quest
I always thought it would have been interesting if Nintendo borrowed the Star Fox 64 game engine and made an aerial dogfighting game for the N64 featuring Mario and his Mushroom Kingdom posse. Something along the lines of Snoopy Flying Ace but with Mario themed arenas and power-ups. Hopefully somebody will take my idea and run with it using a Retrogate PCB. ^_^

The Wii U Topic
I really like the Wii U and believe the console has tremendous potential that sadly was never fully realized. Ultimately it just ended up being a Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart console for me which I guess is fine but probably not enough to justify the price. Thankfully the online is free and it doesn't appear like it's going to be shut down anytime soon so I guess I'll still get a little more out of my investment.

The Wii U did leave a bad enough taste in my mouth, however, that I'm not going to buy a Switch at launch. May not even buy one for a couple of years just to make sure that it's not just another gimmicky machine that never lives up to its promise like the Wii U.

R.I.P. George Michael. This one is hard for me to accept. Another piece of my childhood gone.
George Micheal's crowning achievement in my book. ;)

Great song with plenty of eye candy from the era when super models reigned supreme.

Wii discussion
One of my favorite aspects of the Wii is it's multitude different controller options. The Wii-mote and nunchuck are what enticed many people who had traditionally avoided video gaming to purchase the Wii. However, more serious gamers like myself are attracted to the GameCube controller and Classic Controller support. Here are the ones I own and use regularly.

The original Classic Controller (bottom) is ideal for SNES era Virtual Console games while the Pro model is my go-to for N64 VC titles.
^ Dredged up that older photo of my Classic Controllers so as to have greater impact with this pic of a boxed example I recently picked up.

Got it locally from a Craig's List seller who was letting it go for just 15 bucks. Being an official Nintendo controller I jumped on it immediately knowing I can also use it with my Wii U.

Which Nintendo 64 games do you want to see ported to PC?
The only upside I could see to Nintendo porting N64 games to PC would be if they released a new official USB controller. Those cheap Chinese knockoff just don't cut it. :-/
