Watcha Listenin' To?
Friday night everybody should be looking for a little flesh for fantasy.

PS4
WipEout Omega Collection finally got a release date! It's coming out on June 6th, 2017. :w00t:

Since this thread has sorta become the repository for all things automotive, I thought I'd share this sad news here.

Thanks to BDR reminding me that I'd downloaded it to my Wii, I'm going to start playing Fast - Racing League this week. Up until now I'd only messed around with it but it's time for me to get serious and see what this highly rated WiiWare game really has to offer. Also, playing the Wii version should help prepare me for Fast RMX should I ever get a Switch.

I don't usually like Fords but this one has me smitten.

2018 Ecosport

It's kinda like they shrunk down the Escape to make a cuter mini SUV. X_D

Arguably the greatest Mario Kart game of all time and definitely my personal favorite.

This is a "refurbished" copy that I purchased directly from Nintendo as a backup to my launch copy that came with the Wii-wheel.

If I had a nickel for every minute I've played this game I'd probably be a millionaire. :D

One of my favorite Wii fighting games though is DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3. So many memories of playing that in the dorm with my buddies on Friday nights at college :)
I've never played Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 but I've heard very good things about it. Pulled up a video of it on YouTube and I think I see that it had some influence on Pokken Tournament for the Wii U. BTW, I own Pokken if anybody wants to play some online matches. Don't worry, I'm not very good at it so you don't need to be intimidated.

And also besides being available on VC isn't there a king of fighters collection? And at least one guilty gear too if I'm not mistaken
Yeah, the Wii has a lot of choices for us fans of the fighting game genre. For example, I also own the Virtual Console versions of The King of Fighters '98 and Real Bout Fatal Fury Special which are both absolutely brilliant. Surprisingly, they look really nice on my HDTV too. :yeah:

The original backwards compatible Wii is presently my favorite fighting game console.

These discs provide countless hours for FG goodness and the Virtual Console titles I have on my Wii like Street Fighter II Turbo and Samurai Shodown II round out the choices quite nicely.

Looking out for fakes

I have 2 copies of Super Smash Bros. On the one label the "E" rating is solid black. The other one the "E" rating is just a black outline. Are one of these games a reproduction or a fake?
Probably not but you won't know for sure unless you open them up and look at the PCB inside.

This picture shows the scenario you're describing but these are confirmed originals and not reproductions.

I've now opened up all my N64 cartridges and made sure none are fakes.

Which Nintendo 64 games do you want to see ported to PC?

Turok 2 has been ported to the PC, see: https://www.gog.com/game/turok_2_seeds_of_evil (it's on Steam, too). This isn't the original PC port, which is nearly twenty years old, this is a brand new (week old) port.
"The online multiplayer mode is being worked on and will be implemented at a later date."

I wish I had a graphics card in my PC that would do Turok 2 justice because I have grand memories of multiplayer with my friends Doug, Joey and Ray. In fact, thanks to the water levels, I somewhat enjoyed T2's multiplayer more than Rage Wars.

I was thinking about the gamepad this morning and how it was not the game-changer Nintendo conceived it to be.
If Nintendo couldn't make the gamepad seem necessary I can't imagine how any third-party could. It's funny, I don't use the gamepad with any of the games I play on the Wii U. :-8

Report: Nintendo plans to double Switch production for coming year

I hope this means some incredible software is going to be announced at E3.

The Wii U Topic
The cost to manufacture the gamepad never allowed Nintendo to adjust the price of the Wii U to make it truly viable against the PS4 and XB1. The smarter choice would have been to bundle the Wii U with a Pro controller and allow the console to interact with mobile phones and tablets as an option on certain games.

I'm really sad at the way the whole thing ended up for the Wii U but I can't say I'm at all surprised. The Wii U section at my local Walmart is little more than a monument to squandered potential now and it almost brought a tear to my eyes yesterday when I walked through it. ;_;

On the fence about MK8+. My daughter freaked out when she saw squid girl racing, and I'll probably convince myself the battle mode and the Prime discount are worth the re-purchase. Will report back if we do.
I'm probably just hoping that Nintendo puts Mario Kart 8's graphics over Mario Kart Wii's gameplay with the Deluxe version. The Wii U iteration of MK8 just felt too random, almost like a Mario Party game which is in sharp contrast with the game's lineage. Remember that Super Mario Kart was actually a very competitive racing/battle game in 2-player mode. Since Nintendo claims that SMK inspired MK8 I'd like to see a return to that gameplay dynamic.

Then there's this.

Nintendo Switch sales are already slowing down

I'm a little bit nervous about the Wii shop channel's continued existence now that another generation has passed. I'm hoping Nintendo will be smart enough to let it stay considering how many more people own a Wii than a Wii U.
The Wii Shop Channel is a tremendous value and I hope Nintendo keeps it up and running as long as possible. If it doesn't hurt the Switch in any way I don't see why Nintendo should close the channel.

I'm betting you'd love Fast RMX, though. Can't think of a better way to spend $20.

Edit: I downloaded FAST - Racing League to my original Wii and never got around to playing it. Thanks for reminding me! :w00t:

The Nintendo Switch Topic
How is everybody enjoying their Switch so far? Happy with Breath of the Wild's art direction? It looks neat in pictures but I'm sure those don't do the full game justice.

Also, who's getting Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? I'm eager to read impressions once the game's been out a while to see if Nintendo irons out all the ugly wrinkles that the Wii U version had.
