Wow, Gamestop has an article about my favorite SNES game. :o

Forging WeaponLord

Quote:

Throughout the early 1990's, a lasting divide between Eastern and Western fighting game design was forming. Eastern fighters, such as Street Fighter and The King of Fighters, had a reputation for fast-paced, highly complex play; while Western fighters, such as ClayFighter and Primal Rage, demonstrated a simpler, slower-paced approach. Unless you were Midway, creators of Mortal Kombat, it was suspect to think the West could bottle the technical wizardry of the East. Then along came WeaponLord. Designed by a small team in California, this game sought to combine Eastern complexity and Western brutality into one muscle-bound, broadsword-wielding whole. WeaponLord's creators thought they would conquer the world with this game--but they had to make it first.

Me and Doug didn't do the LAN thing today but we did play Double Dash for a while before moving on to Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
:w00t: Wow, the only thing that would make me more jealous right now would be if you owned 8 Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 systems. Heck, even 2 would drive me insane. But for now your setup has definitely turned me green... :omg:
If you lived close you'd be welcome to drop by anytime for some LAN'ed Double Dash. ;)

Sadly, Doug and I never got around to playing the game networked. :(

Concerning Mario Kart Arcade GP 1 & 2, I wish Nintendo would release them for either the Wii or Wii U because I really want to play those games so bad I can taste it. >:-]

What's the last thing you ate/drank?
Had a cookout and grilled some hamburgers which I put a little bit of yellow American cheese on about 30 seconds before removing them off the heat. Fixed up a little avocado dressing and spread that on my bun before placing a tomato slice and some barbeque sauce on the burger itself. OMG, it was sooo good!!!

As a special treat I had a real Coca-Cola with it.

Almost forgot to mention, I had a few Nacho Cheese Doritos on the side.

My friend from elementary school Doug came down to visit us from Maryland for the holiday weekend; since he's not as hardcore a gamer as he used to be we played a few of the mini games on the Wii Sports Resort disc focusing primarily on archery, table tennis and bowling. :yeah:

Tomorrow we'll probably put some time in with Mario Kart: Double Dash!! with me driving and Doug assuming the role of the backseat gunner. If he feels confident enough maybe I'll set up my GameCube LAN and we can go head-to-head. :w00t:
Using the GameCube Lan seems so much fun! I got to try it out one day; maybe with 8 players. :w00t:

Hmm plugged it in, colour has improved 100% but the picture is still over sharp and not as good as the RF. think it maybe as its going through a scart adapter....
Have you adjusted the sharpness on your TV set? You'll probably have to fine tune the contrast and color to get the best possible picture. That's what I have to do when I connect my N64 to a 32" Panasonic LCD I have.

Hello Everyone!
A warm welcome to our humble hangout, Andy. :D

What are you doing RIGHT NOW?!?!
Just shared a melatonin with my friend Doug and hoping to sleep deep enough tonight as to dream.

I've been focusing on Gamecube and Wii lately, but I have picked up a few N64 things.

I'm quite happy that I finally found a racing wheel in the box (all of it in great condition too). I see wheels all the time but never with box.

Games: Extreme-G 2, F Zero X, Hybrid Heaven, Iggy's Reckin' Balls, Knife Edge, NFL Blitz, Quake, Rugrats in Paris, Wipeout 64, WWF Attitude.
You gotta do a review of that wheel with games like F-Zero X, WipeOut 64 and maybe something more traditional like one of the Rush games.

Forgot my Dreamcast pick. :-8

Dreamcast: Unreal Tournament with an honorable mention to Frame Gride

I too find the "Xbox One" name to be a bit odd. I thought Xbox Infinity sounded neat and lent itself well to a cool logo of an X over a sideways 8.

Now I find myself VERY interested in seeing the actual PS4 hardware! E3 can't come soon enough for me.

In case anyone missed it, Target has dropped the price of the 8GB Wii U by 20%.

Don't forget that Kinect will also recognize voice commands and even from multiple users. It's a brave new world in gaming, folks.

Oh, they're saying that the Xbox One controller even has force feedback built in to the triggers. I'm pretty ambivalent about consoles for the most part but I generally feel that the Xbox controller is better than the dual shock. Can't wait to get my grubby mitts on both.

The Xbox One Topic
Of course your Xbox One will have to be on-line at least once a day cuz how else can it report to Microsoft what the Kinect observed you doing.

Here's a funny video about Kinect on the Xbox 360.

I like what I'm seeing about the Xbox One so far but then again I'm very happy with my 360.

More than likely I'll end up with a Xbox One and Wii U in the next console generation which should provide me access to all the content I'll need.

The PS4 could prove to be a nice machine too so I'll wait to see it before making a decision.

The Xbox One Topic
Nowadays I don't buy new consoles at launch but rather I wait and see which one has the exclusives that I most enjoy. I know that the Wii U will inevitably get Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. with a possibility of F-Zero or Wave Race so I'm sure somewhere down the line I'll pick one up.

The Xbox One while technically impressive probably won't convince me to make a purchase until some really revolutionary software is released. The specs are indeed impressive as the 8GB of DDR3 RAM should make for some huge worlds to play in. For you tech geeks; yeah the PS4 is more impressive as it'll use cutting edge GDDR5 RAM which makes me wonder how that'll affect the console's overall price.

The Xbox One Topic
You can thank rampant piracy for many of the features such as on-line software activation on the next-gen consoles. The Kinect being mandatory isn't much different from the motion controls on the original Wii.

What is cool is that the Xbox One will interface with your tablet so that may bode well for the Wii U in the long run in terms of third-party support.

At the end of the day it's going to be about the games because, after all, content is king. :D

Here's a picture of the Xbox One's controller.

Looks like the d-pad is much improved and much more Nintendo like.

Sucks for all those suckers who bought games for the 360 now they have to buy them again for the new system.
As consoles progress at this exponential rate you won't expect any of them to be backwards compatible. Why would you want them to be when the new gameplay possibilities are so exciting?

Not just that but if you want to play older games you're generally given that opportunity via emulation. Granted the emerging trends do seem bad for collectors in some ways though.

I'm psyched! :w00t:

When the technology is discussed I'm again reminded that we live in exponential times. Consider that the new Kinect will even be able to detect your heart rate! :o
