Struggling on Excitebike 64 tonight!
I've had a really tough time with Excitebike 64 too. People say it's as brilliant as Wave Race 64 or F-Zero X but I've never been able to appreciate that level of quality.

Im seriously considering to buy some Nintendo stock because im sure they will bounce back strongly, make a killing with the Wii U and double my money in a year or two.

Wii U still has a strong chance of being a success if Nintendo prices it appropriately and supports it with their best first-party IP's.

While I'm not ready to call the 3DS a failure I do believe that it was overpriced at launch. Making matters worse, it didn't have enough first-party support that really takes advantage of the 3D effect.

The voice of reason in the US debt debate
Yeah it appears that the radicalized arm of the Republican Party (The Tea Party) is holding our entire nation hostage. This isn't at all surprising given that radicals often resort to terrorism as we've seen from Al-Qaeda and more recently the Norwegian Shooter. Fox News and Conservative talk radio have created a monster that even Speaker of the House John Boehner can't control and now we're all going to have to pay the price for that. :(

I thought road rash 64 was common in the states. I see fairly often for about $6. Also enjoy RR64, it's a blast!
At this time there's only one on Ebay and it's a Buy it Now for $17.96 from a seller in the UK. Amazon has it for $9.50 but then you gotta add shipping. <_<

Road Rash 64 is pretty rare here in Raleigh as I've never seen it for sale at either a flea market or vintage game store. If you can find them at $6 I suggest buying and reselling. In fact, if you find a mint one I'll buy it cuz mine is a little scratched up.

You could always buy the 3DS now, get the 20 free games, then bring back in the reciept to a Futureshop or Best buy and they will match the price drop and give you back some money (they have a 30 day policy that if the console drops price, they give you a partial refund). This way you could get the games and the cheaper price of $169.99 but initially pay $199.99.
Brilliant! :w00t:

Added three more N64 games to my collection:

I paid a random seller on Craig's List eleven dollars for all three but in reality I really only wanted Road Rash 64 because it's not too common here in the States. Basically I paid 10 bucks for it and got both NFL Blitz 2001 and Cruis'n USA for a dollar.

My collection already includes the original NFL Blitz (in fact, I purchased it new at launch) but I've heard that 2001 has less bothersome handicap programming in multiplayer so games are a little more exciting and dependent on skill.

Just some of my nicer condition N64 controllers along with a few others for comparison:

What games are you playing?
This morning I played Modern Warfare 2 on my Xbox 360 because the excitement level for the sequel, which will be released around my birthday, is really starting to ramp up.

Also, put in a little time on the Virtual Console version of F-Zero X simply because that one looks so nice in progressive scan. I do miss the rumble that I get when I play it on the N64, though. :(

Nintendo announces massive price drop on the 3DS.

http://www.nintendo.com/corp/nintendo3ds/news/

The new price of the machine is $169.99 which is about right to what I think is a very competitive price for the machine.
I knew this would happen sooner rather than later as my friend who works at Gamestop told me that 3DS sales aren't doing very well. I'm glad I didn't buy one at launch! :whistle:

Nintendo better learn from the 3DS pricing lesson and price the Wii U accordingly. Here in the United States we're still in the throws of a terrible Recession (some even say Depression) so the average person can't afford to throw money at every new electronic toy that gets released unless it offers incredible value.

The voice of reason in the US debt debate
I'm quoting this speech because it may go down in history as the tipping point when broken government hammered down the final coffin nail on the US economy.

From a respected intellectual:

"Obama has spent surprisingly little. From the numbers posted in the NYT, decisions made from 2002-2009 equaled a 5.1 trillion dollar impact on the deficit including a 1.8 trillion dollars of lost revenue from the tax cuts. Since then, Obama spent 1.44 trillion, 700 billion on the stimulus, a one time event and 425 billion on stimulus...See More tax cuts, a one time event. This left 330 billion for discretionary spending, including health care. Spending is a combination of outflows and reduced inflows caused by tax cuts.

Describing this as giving Obama a blank check is stretching the point. There will not be any future stimulus spending, no matter what economists recommend. We are going to agree to a lowering of our standard of living and enter a time of prolonged austerity with reduced services, which the private individuals will need to pick up. There is nothing wrong with austerity, (if you have a job). It is not going to be the end of the world. It will lower wages, increase prices, reduce government revenue and increase asset liquidation, which is better than adding to the deficit. Remember that any reduction in government spending must be picked up by the individual if they use that service."

well, selling does take some effort.
It's not the effort that's a problem; I just get too attached to all the items I buy especially if they're in exceptional condition. That's why I've got like 6 copies of SSB and almost as many Mario Kart 64's. :wacko:

I've sold a Megaman II cartridge (NES) just this afternoon. I buy & sell games and consoles to support my collecting habit :)

I always say I'm going to do that but then I almost never sell. That's how I ended up with so many copies of Super Smash Bros. :-8

I did sell a Mario Kart 64 because it didn't always retrieve the save status and a Super Smash Bros. because the label was blemished and I still got $40 for them. I was completely honest with the buyer about condition but he still wanted the two games and considered my price fair.

Having a wife that's a trained assassin

That made me laugh! :D
In the James Bond movie of the same name, Goldfinger's diminutive Asian henchman was known as Oddjob and now here in the States some are referring to Murdoch's wife as Whackjob. :lol:

Here's a picture from my front door of the snow we had here in Wake Forest, NC during December 2010. BTW, it's gonna be about 102 degrees here today. :wacko:

Console position: Horizontal or Vertical?
SNES = horizontal
N64 = horizontal
PS2 = vertical
GameCube = horizontal
Wii = horizontal
Xbox 360 = horizontal

Generally I prefer to have my consoles lying horizontal as that tends to promote better air flow and keeps the systems cooler during use.

Looks to me like the snow is so bad that he's driving on the wrong side of the road. ;)

Should Rupert Murdoch go to jail?
Having a wife that's a trained assassin just adds to Murdoch's image of being a James Bond villain hell-bent on taking over the world. I wonder if the evil media mogul in the movie Tomorrow Never Dies was patterned after him? :D
