This is not a list of winners but of qualifying times. As it states the contest is still going on. One thing I have noticed from this list of 41 "Qualifying Times" is 3 of them are from Canada. 2 from Ontario and 1 from British Columbia. It seems over here in the states the contest must have actually been for North America and not just United States. Not surprising, but interesting. In return eliminating the possibility of a different unique grand prize for Canada and thinning the North American release of MK64GC's between the two continents.
The contest was worldwide if your country allowed you to participate in it if I recall correctly. i'm sure the full contest rules are still available somewhere.

Canada was open to this contest, yes but not the province of Quebec where I am. The laws are pretty ******** stupid here regarding contests and they think we're ****** idiots who cannot read english. basically, it requires to the person who makes a contest to return 1% of the profit to the government but also the rules and the contest itself requires to be in both French and English, which nobody give a :cussfit: for such a small population (around 8 millions) and it's quite normal.

as requested. I do not have anymore picture at the moment. I can confirm that "MADE IN JAPAN" is written on it. Dan asked me about it back in November 2015, I just never confirmed to him with a picture. If it is indeed true that all gold are made in china", then the hunt it on I suppose. If anyone has one of those Nintendo calling card, i'll gladly take it to add with my controller.

i think you're confusing it. it is indeed not the same colour. it is a much brighter blue than the darker greenish/blueish blue that we both have. we'll have to rethink our colour name lol

EDIT: Unless we're all confused. Im waiting for a picture and video with closeup of all his controllers.

EDIT 2: I just saw your picture on the last page and it is indeed the same one as he picture on the bottom but you can also see the top left is not the same the bottom one.

how bout Gold Japanese controllers, are they exactly like the MK64GC ?

Are you referring to the japanese MK64 Gold controller contest?
It would have to be. It's as early as this one, and it's Made In Japan.
Our fellow member Darklink has one, and there are ways to tell without opening it.
:yeah:
no. I meant the standard sold in store controller.

that Japanese Contest i've heard of but the origin of this contest is still very unknown.

never played it so I have no clue what it is. just a random game like that i'd like to try one day.

Which games in your collection are the ones from your childhood?
first ever console was a SNES with Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart and a couple of games I dont remember. Sold it off to our cousins since we upgraded to a N64. I always wanted it back but our cousins sold it to some other guy. I wanted MINE back yo know, but meh.

My brother and I bought a used CIB N64 during the summer of 96 for 3004. it came with Wave Race 64 & Super Mario 64. I bought several cart during the 4 years I heavily played it but only kept one: Wave Race 64. To this day, I still have it and it's the only game I kept when i sold off every games a couple of months ago.

i can't get rid of it for some reason, it's like the only thing attached to my teenage years.

Mario Kart 64 Golden controller Nintendo Power contest
Hi there. that special controller haunted me for years too. I couldnt win it because the laws here forbid it but 7 years ago, someone with the original letter sold one and bought it as fast as I could. There's nothing special except they were the first Gold controllers to be available to the public. The only way to know if it's a real one would be to have all the original paper that it came with, ie letter of winning and the picture that you had to send to win one.
