Mario Kart 64 Hotlap Thread
Spoiler: click to toggle

I don't intend to discourage others by showing this, but this is a sacrafice one has to make!
A few days in the desert felt like 40 days and 40 nights.

I garuntee that the people before us have the same marks/calluses.
They are no different... food for thought.

@kart,
you're thinking of the wrong shortcut. Thanks to Youtube you can see world record holders do it. As of now, much better than i can.

Voice changes JPN Version Mario (Kart) 64
Yes.
But i wouldn't call "time" an issue per se.

Most games come out first in Japan; where they are made.
These 2 games were already finished, and in theory, were finished months before they were released in Japan.

Other regions then get the neccessary time and tools needed to make adjustments to do translations, voice overs, etc.

Voice changes JPN Version Mario (Kart) 64
Hello there

These are good questions. Most likely the reasons that Charles Martinet was able to do the voices in those games is because the jpn versions were finished and released months before the rest of the world got them.

Nintendo had time to find someone to do the voices for the english speaking market.
I believe these were the first games he worked on.

Thanks Vinyl. :-8

@Pimpin,
Use Goo Gone and Q-tips.

SNES labels have a protective gloss finish, so there is no worry.
Apply a small amount to the Q-tip and gently go over the area.

Then shortly after, use clean end of Q-tip to begin to wipe away the residue.

Repeat these steps using clean Q-tips until the sticker residue is gone.
Any appearance of staining from the Goo Gone is temporary and will dissapear.

* There used to be a similar product called un•du, which was equally good, but got discontinued.

Here's something different!
It's not pretty, but not much about Mushroom Cup is...

Doing this on lap 1 almost requires you to race through the moving train wheels on lap 2, which is easier said than done! :-/

Expansion Pak Help
Here is another way to tell...

No game will play without a Jumper Pak, so what happens when you try to play?

If it's not recognizing the Exp. Pak, it must be recognizing something. :yeah:

Expansion Pak Help
Hey there,
by the sound of it, i think it might be a faulty ExpansionPak.

SWE1R should give you the option to switch resolution modes, BUT The World is not Enough DOES NOT!
You can only tell a difference by playing.

Happy Birthday Luke! :gift:
oh, to be young again. Have a good one! :yeah:

Knocking on Nintendo's door.
I seen this a few years ago, but i'm glad others have too.
Because he was fluent in japanese, he was able to capture this rare exchange of information.

It also captures a glimpse of the origin story. Even 100 years ago, Nintendo was making variations!
It's almost, poetic.

Knocking on Nintendo's door.
Youtube took it down once, but i think it deserves a second look!
Enjoy.

Strange but true things that you've experienced?
Whew!
That's a relief...

I believe it was a late 80's Zenith.
The remote was on the coffee table the whole time.

It has bugged me for years.

i'll be back. :D

Strange but true things that you've experienced?
The more i read this, the more i believe these stories and accounts!

Sometime around late 1991/1992, my sister and i went to stay the weekend at our father's place. It was fairly recent that he had moved in, but we've visited prior to this incident.

We slept in the living room at night. Shortly after all going to sleep, i was still trying to doze off, then the television came on by itself!

I ran and got my dad. He shut it off and calmed me down. It never happened again. He kept the TV for years after with no problems.
Needless to say, it scared me sleepless that night.

I'd give alot to see Limp Bizkit again. last time wqas in 2003 on the Summer Sanitarium Tour with Mudvayne, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park and Metallica. that was a freaking blast this day lol

Wow, it sounds like it! Never got to see them. It would be awesome to see the returning guitarist. Even these days, they cross paths with Korn, but it's almost always in Europe or Japan.

Just for a short term here but still
Welcome to the forum Fdot... :eh:

I once seen N64 escape O.D.T. retail in 1999. It was also in NP release index for several issues.
