V-Rally Edition 99
I rented this back in the day and I really liked it. I must admit when I added it into my collection whilst I agree it looks good the controls I felt really let it down. I haven't tried it with the D-pad though so thanks for pointing this out. I'll have a blast on it over the weekend. :wario:

Good pickup there Lyyt.

5 Pros and Cons of our Beloved N64!
Good thread, apologies for any repeats.

Pros:

-4 player
-Goldeneye (all the other exclusives too but just Goldeneye is enough said)
-Loading time (lack of)
-Cool coloured pads (and later consoles)
-Carts more durable than a disk (I.e. Not scratching)

Cons:

-Less audio
-Less FMV
-Thumbsticks eventually getting loose
-Exclusives to US that pisses me off e.g. THPS 3, Indiana Jones, Army Men etc etc
-The boxes with inserts built in... Just why?

The condition of that Superman makes the game look good. Shame it's like the worst game ever made. I had high hopes for it when I bought it (having not read reviews before) and needless to say it was never played again. Good haul Italia, as always. :yeah:

I'd really like Conkers to but I really don't want to fork out 140ishquid for a cib may just have to though
It's looking that way isn't it mate unfortunately. So annoying I sold my absolute minter in 2010 for around 45 box booklets Baggy like new. People trying to get nearer 200 for that now

Serves me right for blowing all my student loan and getting myself in a position where I was desperate for cash...

Defending the N64
At the end of the day it's essentially about opinion. For me Goldeneye killed it. I liked the controller too.

He failed to mention the following points which I think made the N64 shine (whilst trying to talk down other strengths):

-N64 multiplayer was sensational compared to other consoles at that time: Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart, Pokemon Stadium etc etc etc (did I mention 4 players) yes 4 player split-screen without multi-taps etc

-Coloured controllers from inception and varying colour consoles from a later date

-Not waiting ridiculous lengths of times for games to load

-In many cases not requiring a memory card

The thing is I appreciate all consoles for what they were. All have strengths, weaknesses, exclusives etc etc. I just think that guy is a bit of a muppet to be honest in the sense that he will think he has been clever, but actually, he has missed a lot of vital strengths which because he probably has little experience of he cannot relate to them. It's not like you can look at it retrospectively either unless you have all those late night 4 player Goldeneye memories you won't fully appreciate the multiplayer strengths it had for the time (aside from the awesome solo).

If he and I have also missed further strengths please also put them in guys.

:n64: forever baby! Goldeneye is the boss. 8)

Edit: and just about the pop at Zelda OOT, the guy probably played this on an emulator and didn't give it much time. With all due respect, it's not the same in my opinion so yeah. Owned.

Two new additions. Still trying to get mint games at the right sort of prices. Needless to say for the rarer games like Conkers this is proving more difficult. I'm thinking I will just have to fork out for that...

Usually I make good deals but this time someone else made me pay a lot for this (Extreme-G+CD).
But I wanted it so much :P

It was me who made you pay a bit more for Buck Bumble as well as I am after a mint copy like I used to have as this was a game I had new back in the day. I wasn't after the rumble pack though so stopped bidding at 20. :yeah:

What games are you playing?

Been playing some PSone and N64 games recently:

Medal of Honor (PS1) - I like this, it took a while to find the right control set up though. It has a fairly slow pace at the start, hoping things will pick up soon.

Forsaken (N64) - In trying to get further than I did when I original played this (1998-ish?). The levels start of well but seen to lose their way as the game progresses. Not giving up yet though.
I used to love Medal of Honor on the PS1 back in the day, great game. When you're dressed in Nazi gear and you have to show your credentials he like whips out some form of ID lol. :yeah:

iPhone 6 and 6Plus revealed
I'm still rocking the iPhone 4 and in serious need for an upgrade. I'm quite loyal to Apple now as far as phone markets go (also have an iPad mini) so I can't see myself deviating. I will have to see what the pricing is like on the 6 here in the UK.

I have to say though I agree with the above that watch looks awesome. Might have to replace the Armani one with that bad boy. Be good if it had your health bars etc like when you pause Goldeneye ;-) :yeah: :n64:

What games are you playing?
A little update from me I completed GTA 3, and I am quite far into Vice City now. I decided to complete all the GTAs. I also have Star Wars Rogue Squadren on route in the post for the N64 which im looking forward to playing :w00t:
