Some of them ask questions about marketing trends and how I use online game media resources. Such questions are so blatantly marketing research on the part of Gamespot and CNET it isn't funny. Seriously. It isn't funny.

I'm not sure what they are in this case. I used to visit GameFAQs when I was about 9 years old, before the CNET buyout. It was very different back then, it still boasted the largest gaming community on the net but it wasn't all glossed over like some kind of magazine. It still had a troll problem, but no where near as bad as the situation is today. As for polls, I like them. I tend to participate in all of them, even if I'm not even remotely interested in the topic of the poll.
