1) The Key and Eggs in Banjo Kazooie can be accessed just by using cheats (see :http://au.ign.com/cheats/games/banjo-kazooie-n64-1922).

I thought it was amazing when I figured you could access all those hidden areas all those years ago.



2) Nintendo made the PAL box art of some n64 games (i.e. Mario 64, pilot wings etc) with ugly black borders to emulate the massive black borders that unfortunate PAL n64 owners saw on the screen when playing the game (or maybe I just made that up :D).
