Stolen topic from N64 Answers message board desert! ^_^

For anyone who hasn't played it, it's a sandbox game (think GTA) except you play as a cop with enhanced powers... No prizes for originality then! ^_^ Behind the thin plot is a really great and completely open ended game. You could seek out the final boss, if you wished, and kill him before you do anything else in the game. Obviously the game tries to steer you in a different direction, but the decision is left with the player. I'm playing through the story just now and it really quite good fun. Overall the game is more of an exploration title than GTA and there's some really great platforming sections thrown in as well. Trust me, climbing some of the taller buildings is freakin' scary, especially if you don't have a head for heights (like me). I've never suffered vertigo in a game before... :o

There's loads of items to find should you want to bulk up your stats before facing an enemy. Should have mentioned that you build skills in different areas; driving, strength, firepower, explosives, etc, so it has a RPG-lite feel reminisant of GTA: San Andreas. The stats aren't as extensive, (there's not individual stats for each gun, for example) although the effect of building stats is much more obvious than in GTA:SA. Wanna jump 25 feet in the air? Collect agility orbs. Wanna be able to throw a car? Use melee combat as well as/instead of guns.. Anyway, I could bore you silly, but if you are interested check out:

I'm still enjoying this game. So far I've liberated the Los Muertos area and am working on the Volt. I've maxed out agility and strength and have nearly made it to the top of the Agency building. Damn, that's a hard climb, even with max agility!

I love Crackdown, it is my favorite and most played 360 game(Dead Rising is a close second). I got the game right around release, I have already completed the story mode and maxed out my Agent. However, this wasen't the end of the fun for me, Crackdown lives on with great replay value, tons of hidden orbs and the new d/l content on XBL.

This game makes GTA feel "tame" in comparison. :D

The abilities are great fun and really give you a sense of wonder, jumping from building to building. It's funny... most of my 360 achievements are from the two games you've mentioned; Dead Rising and Crackdown. Oh, and quite a few from Just Cause as well.

alxbly, have you heard of a game called Earth Defense Force 2017? We seem to share some of the same tastes in gaming, and I really think you might like the game. It's a third person shooter, set in a world overrun by massive alien invaders. Basically, your obvious goal is to rid the world of the alien scum, with a HUGE(over 100) collection of different weapons, from shotguns to rocket launchers, ect. The game is pretty easy during the early levels, but playing on the harder difficultys can be a nightmare.

-You can play 2 player co-op on the same 360
-Over 100 different weapons to unlock
-You need to beat the game on every setting to unlock every item
-HP stat collects and stays the same on every difficulty.

Overall it is the ultimate sleeper on the 360, and one of my top five favorite games for the system. The only real drawback is that the animation for your characters seem very stiff and uninspired. Not to mention the graphics are abit bland. ^_^

Well, I finished Crackdown a few days ago and *SPOILER ALERT*

...so I'm the bad guy? Great. <_<

Good game though. Even getting to the last boss can be a challenge, but a little patience helps a lot here (as does a rocket launcher). So that's it, got four stars on every skill except driving, climbed to the top of the Agency tower to get the achievement and now I can put this game down for a while. I still have some side missions to do; rooftop and car races, etc, so I'll come back to them in a while.

And now I'm gonna start Saints Row! :D

Well friends, it looks like I am being forced into an early CrackDown retirement. I finally got a replacement 360 after my original unit broke down, after numerous problems my new unit has already broke down!!! It was manufactured June/30/2007!!! The worst part? I had only played the new unit SIX times!!!! >_< >_< >_< It apears to be a different problem then the 3 red lights in the ring of death, meaning my system might not be covered in the 3 year warrenty plan...

I hate to be a sell out/traitor/whatever else, but I might be going the PS3 route by the end of the year. *dodges sticks, stones and grenades on the way out of topic*

PS3's not a bad console, it just lacks games just now. I dunno if I'd want to lose my 360 though... my plan is to sell mine if it ever freezes up/gets sent away for repair and just buy a new one. Microsoft need to get their quality control sorted out.
