So yeah. I was thinking earlier, "how much more effective would my life be without video games". My reply (because I talk to myself) was that I would either be far more studious or I'd just replace them with a different time waster (TV, alcoholism, etc). Who can say?

It is funny, video games are probably just as useful to the world as Shakespeare, but you'll never hear Jack Thompson raving about the dangerous violence in Titus Andronicus. The only difference of course is the medium of reading has other uses (i.e. learning anything) where the video game can only be used for entertainment. That and the Norton Shakespeare costs about 15 times less than a PS3!

They're not nearly as hard on the body as drugs or alcohol, yet they're just as good as an escape. So I think they're ok. :whistle:

i think they definately can be. heck, anything offering immediate fun for little or no work can be. if you keep it in check, i think it is totally healthy and harmless :D
