What am I doing with a phone you ask? Well.... I don't know?

So I started seeing someone regarding the content of a certain post I made several months to which we shall not directly refer. It's helpful to talk about said content with a real person, but I don't particularly like being lumped together with all sorts of odd sexual/gender deviance (I mean that in a neutral way) and I find the whole thing rather difficult.

I'm not actually sure why I'm posting that bit of information. I suppose I'm trying to talk about it.

It's good to talk! :)

I'm glad to hear that you've been seeing somebody, regarding "that". Not that I'm saying a problem with "that", not at all. I really hope that by seeing them you'll feel more positive about yourself, because I must admit some of your more negative posts regarding your current life situation worries me. :(

I hope I haven't stepped out of line with this post.

I once had a "girl" in my MSN list who (eventually) said she had a crush on me. She had some nice pics of her, but I didn't trust her from the start. Later I found out I was right, I discovered that "her" pics weren't actually her, but from a Czech model >_<

So after about 8 sessions with a counselor the semester ended and I was transfered to a new one because my initial one was an M.A. intern. I don't particularly care for this new one. She is very much a family counselor who's like "accept who you are!" and all that bullcrap. She seems interested in treating me like a "transsexual". I need to call back to make an appointment. I'm thinking about not calling back. But that would mean I'm back where I started!

And to tie this post in with the N64, I was completely convinced Sheik was male the first time I played OoT.

How many sessions with this new counselor have you had? Because if you've only had one or two, I'd say you should go back once me and see if you make a little progress with her. But if you've had quite a few sessions and you're completely unhappy with how it's going, start shopping around for a new counselor. :)

I can't say I have any experience with counselors, but if you're paying for sessions that aren't actually helping you then it really does defeat the initial purpose.

Oh, I don't pay. I would never pay for something like that because I clearly am a psychologically healthy person with absolutely no problems that require consoling. A university this size offers free consoling (and even psychiatric) services to students.

Ah ok, I didn't realise you were seeing your counselor through the university.

And come on, you're way too hard on yourself! Obviously I don't actually know you in person, but you seem like a fairly stable person.

Stable? I feel sometimes like I'm two different people. There's a man, and then there is this irritating woman that keeps knocking me over the head and saying "hey! You are me! Stop trying to ignore me!" I can't really describe what that kind of thing can do to your life. Try writing a paper (I have one due Thusday!) with that kind of thing running through your mind. This has gotten worse every year. I've heard stories of people just snapping, killing themselves, chopping off their genitals, or some other seemingly ridiculous act. But I actually understand why someone would go to such lengths.

I think the main reason therapy hasn't been that helpful is because I'm not particularly forthcoming with the counselor. I avoid answer anything other than the typical "woman in a man" paragon. To a question like "have you ever done anything to make yourself feel more feminine?" I usually answer with "um *pause* I'm sorry, what did you say? Oh, sure. Oh. Our session is over now!" Very productive, wouldn't you say?

Seriously though, I totally thought Sheik was a guy the first time.

So I haven't been in therapy now since August. I tried group therapy in a ground specifically for grad students, hoping that working on my social skills might help alleviate this particular problem (I think the issue exists as a way of coping with isolation), but that hasn't been the case. I'm considering going back to see a normal therapist. The fact that this problem persists and I seem to have almost no control over it is really starting to worry me.

I'm a cynic, though I am aware of this. Even still, negative feelings are how I deal with, well... everything. :nope:

And what is it that you edited?

I'm nowhere near understanding that. The edit was meant as a genuine thing, because I don't want you to feel "In another lifetime, I'd have never came here and would be a better person for it". I'm not sure if you're kidding or not... :eh:

I'm not happy. Even although I told you to leave me alone, you still insist on including me in your little roomie party. You all would create so many messes in which it would be pushed upon me to clean them up. I'm always the one to get stuck with such duties, and I have no idea why.

Anyways, to clean up this topic, I shall try to get it back on track.

Wow, I can't believe you allow your friends to know such things. I would never let anyone know my social security number, because it, well, secures my social I guess. :eh: And your credit card number? That's all they need for online shopping. I'd never trust anyone with that.

As for me: as I'm sure I've mentioned before (likely in this topic), I have an allergy to bee stings. When I was about ten years old, I was stung by a bee in my right ear and had to go to the hospital. To this day, I am still partially deaf in that ear, and it is also slightly larger than the other one.
