Well... my refute to that would be... ... MOST games I own (and I'm ~sadly~ pretty sure I can guarantee this) will never be lucky enough for me to even play more than 10 minutes of, let alone all the way through.  Life Progress: - Can't really complain. Work is really starting to take its toll on my body, which isn't so good. Oh well, I should be pretty well adjusted to it in a few more weeks. Game Progress: Getting through Half Life 2 at a leisurely pace. I'm now on the Anti-citizen One level. I bought a 360 wireless bridge a few days ago and since then I've been addicted to playing Team Fortress online. It's soooo good!!! I could tell you how well the class system works or how satisfying the game scenarios are, or how rewarding working as a structured team is... but it's easier to just accept that Team Fortress is amazingly good. Think Timesplitters 2/FP online but with tighter gameplay and you're pretty much there. Also been playing Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles a little. It's okay-ish but overall it's leaving me kinda cold. I don't feel that immersed in the game and the guns are underpowered and not satisfying. Considering that all you do is shoot, having crappy guns is a real let down. Life Progress: Good and bad. Got Transformers on DVD yesterday so I was very happy to be watching it again. Started xmas shopping today, which is good, but lost my credit card, which wasn't so good. Listening To: Shadows of the Colossus soundtrack, West End Girls - Petshopping and some random xmas music. |

Game Progress: I just found the large canon I need to repair in Twilight Princess. Unfortunately right before I found it I gave all my rupees to the Malo Market guy. The irony is right before I had done that, I had gone through (what I assume to be) all of the Cave of Ordeals except the part that I don't have access to yet, so I found probably several thousand excess rupees that went to waste due to the 600 limit. Life Progress: I have a 20 page paper due Monday that I haven't started to write yet  and another one that is almost finished due Wednesday
 and a 3rd 20 page paper due on the 19th that I haven't even thought about, let along done any research. In an ideal world I would be behind on my Zelda save file and ahead on these papers...

Game Progress: Played NCAA, putting up Colt Brennan numbers for my Oklahoma State QB, 20 TDs and 1 INT through three games Life Progress: Suppose this could go under game progress too, bought a 360 and Halo 3, it's still in it's box though. I'll try setting up Live tomorrow. Going to the movies soon. Listening to: Rocky Top! (I'm sure Steve just lovvvessss this one!  )

Game Progress: Started a new game of Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones last night on the hardest difficulty. Didn't get very far though. Life Progress: I have the house to myself this weekend. Unfortunately my girlfriend has gone on a family holiday to the land of the imperials, so she won't be able to spend the weekend here with me. I've messaged about 15-20 of my friends for a house party and just about all of them haven't got back to me yet. Gaming progress:Had an extra long session of Team Fortress 2 last night and earlier this evening. Unfortunately I’d not upgraded my internet for about three years and I was still on a relatively slow broadband connection. I got bored of people shooting me before they’d even appeared on screen so I phoned up my ISP and upgraded. Yay!!! So tonight I was out for revenge kills. And I suceeded! Got slightly further in HL2 but still on the Anti-citizen 1 level. If I can drag myself away from Team Fortess then I might be able to finish HL2 in the next few days and then move on to HL2: Episode 1. Question!! How long is Half Life 2 Ep.1? Just a few hours or is it quite substantial? And I’m determined to get back into Super Mario Galaxy at some point… still only got 14 stars. Life progress: No luck in tracking down my credit card. What a time of year to lose that… doh! But other than that life is good. There’s beers in the fridge so I can’t complain!  Listening to: This is easy! – Various Artists |

The episodes are about the length of 1/3 of Half-life 2. Episode 1 will probably take you about 4 or 5 hours. Episode 2 seemed slightly longer. How are you doing with TF2? Do you hate engineers as much as I do yet? It's a shame we play it on different platforms.

Thanks David, I was kinda curious as to how long it would be before I catch up with... well... everyone else. 
I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that I'm loving Team Fortress 2. I'm getting really rather good with my favorite character classes now.  Engineers don't bother me much, mainly because my favorite character classes are soldier and demoman. Since I've got the missles and grenades, I kinda see it as my job to take down the engineers creations (and the guys with miniguns)! I've only briefly tried playing as an engineer so I'm not sure how they stock up on the metal they need to build stuff? Do they need to go to resupply points or do kills give them extra? As you know, choosing the right class to respawn as can make a lot of difference and I intend to master every character class... eventually. My least favorite characters are pyros and spies, both for the same reason. These guys get their kills by getting up close, which is where my weapons aren't so useful. It is a shame we're playing on different platforms, I'd have liked to work on the same team as yourself. So who do you play as? I'm gonna guess... a spy!

Engineers get metal two ways: collecting guns from people that have died or from a dispenser, which generates metal the same way it generates health. Whenever you build something, it shows the health of the thing you built. If something you build it damaged, you hit it with your wrench. This uses metal and heals it. If a spy puts a sapper mine on something, hit it off with the wrench before it blows up. When you build something, hit it with your wrench to make it build faster. The turret has 2 upgrades, both of which cost 200 metal. You just hit to add the upgrade. Pyros are pretty hard to use in a direct fire fight. Their main use is to kill spies (since there is no friendly fire, if you spray a spy disguised as a teammate, they will catch fire and everyone around will realize they're an enemy), especially on maps when you're defending and will likely have a lot of turrets. Spies are kind of hard to play well. You have to get good at mimicking the enemy, which is harder than it sounds. The easiest trick to start with is walking backwards a lot to look like your in retreat. I usually play as whatever the team needs at the time. I'm probably the best with a Medic and the worst with a Demolition Man. In fact, I suck with Demo -- I think my record with him is like 2 kills. |

Game Progress: Finished Half Life 2 tonight, and I'm now playing through Ep.1. There were a few achievements I didn't get in HL2 (like finding the singing Vortigaunt in the Water Hazard level) so I may go back and play it again... after I've finished Episodes 1 and 2. Downloaded Mario Kart 64 for the Wii Virtual Console. It looks really nice on a HDTV, a lot sharper than the original N64 cart. Maybe if I do an RGB mod on one of my N64's it would look similarly good. Perhaps... Life Progress: Tired, going to bed. Listening to: Mrs Alxbly making noises at me. |

Game Progress: 22 stars into Super Mario Galaxy. Trying to complete at least a few stars every day, so that I might one day finish this game. Played Elder Scrolls Oblivion for the first time since about April 2007. I hadn't got very far before, but now I'm closely following the objective arrow on my compass. I'm only at the second or third quest (Breaking the seige at Kvatch) but I'm stuck already. Every time I leave the temple a group of grunts kill me. Started Progect Gotham Racing 4. Finished 2 events on normal difficulty. Got myself a couple of classic Ferarris. Booo!!!! I don't want classic, I want a freakin' 360 Challenge Stradale, an F430 or an Enzo! Life Progress: No work for me until 7th January! However, I do have a rather nasty cold/flu/chest infection, which is a complete pain in the ass. I haven't left the house since Christmas Eve. Listening To: various albums by the Orb. |

Game Progress: Just started my first playthrough of God Of War (PS2). So far it's been really good, the combat is incredible and the enemies are nothing short of awesome. Freezing a Minotaur with Medusala's Gaze and then smashing it into bloodied chunks is easily one of the most awesome gaming experiences I've ever had. Greek Mythology has never been so much fun.
Life Progress: Go to work. Go to sleep. Repeat until holidays. Listening To: The complete Mr. Bungle discography. |
