Half-Life - a film?

I've just been playing Half-Life Episode Two (I'll post my thoughts when I finish it), and it reminded me of the rumour of a film version of Half-Life. There's always rumours of movie/film versions of popular games, which mostly never come to anything (thankfully, as most films-of-games are rubbish, and even the best, such as the Resident Evil films, aren't too good as films in their own right), and probably Half-Life will never be immortalised (or more likely cheapened almost to oblivion) by a film (well, series of films, as the film studio would try to drag every drop of profit from the license).

But if there were to be a film made of the Half-Life games, what would you like to see? And what actors/actresses would you suggest?

A couple of interesting suggestions that I read on the 'net are that the film of Half-Life 2 should cover the seven day war, which of course would be interesting (and the film(s) could expand on any aspect of the games' backgrounds that are never mentioned or only hinted at), and that the film could be done entirely in first person view, seen from Freeman's eyes (although this would be difficult to tie with the show-the-Seven-Day-War idea), which I think might be very interesting if doen properly.

Any comments?

Silent Hill was actually a decent movie in its own right...

A Half-life film would be really hard to do, since Half-life's thing is total immersion. It would pretty much have to be in 1st person without Gordon ever talking, which wouldn't work too well in a movie. I honestly think Half-life tells its story better than any movie ever could.

Also, since when do you play good games? :P
