I have them and I'm supposed to wear them but I don't. Only for reading books, I just deal with squinting at everything and asking other people to read for me usually. |

I did that when I was in like fifth grade and now my eyesight is really ****ed up. I'd suggest you get contacts or something before you mess up your precious little eyes. |

when i was 8, a doc prescribed me glasses. i hardly ever wore them. we moved back to my old home town, and a doctor friend of that guy gave me another pair, that i also hardly ever wore. when i was about 14, the 2nd doc died. so we located a new doctor. he new neither doctor and at the end of the exam he asked me "do you ever wear your glasses" i said "no" and he says "that's good, you don't really need them" and i haven't since. i have pretty good eyesight  crooked optomitrists!

There's nothing wrong with wearing glasses, when you've had them a while you forget that you're wearing them, and they do have advantages, such as keeping the wind and dust out of your eyes, plus you should get the type I have, which go darker in sunlight, so I now never have to suffer with harsh sunlight in my eyes. Great! On the minus side, glasses are bad in heavy rain, as the water obscures your vision (without glasses the rain just gets in your eyes, which is annoying, but at least you can blink to clear your vision), to say nothing of the trouble of having to remember your glasses (not so much now, as after around fifteen years of needing them even my tiny brain has mastered the concept of remembering them, but when I first started wearing them I used to forget and go off in the mornings leaving my glasses at home). Worst of all, you have to be careful not to break them, although they are far better at staying attached to your head than you realise, and they don't break so easily anymore. And on the plus or minus depending on your viewpoint side, people assume that if you wear glasses then you must be smarter than you are, but also less physical than you are. And some women can look really sexy in glasses. And since women didn't fancy me even when I didn't have glasses, then I've lost nothing by wearing them  I didn't realise I needed glasses until I was about twenty-two, and I was so sick of everyone asking me why I squinted then I was reading or looking at the TV that I went for an eye test, and was told I needed glasses. And when I got them I was amazed at how much clearer everything looked. I don't mind wearing glasses (in fact I get headaches now if I don't wear them for a while, I've been wearing them permanently whilst awake now for a decade or so), but given the choice I'd rather not, though not by a big margin. And since I won't have contact lenses (I couldn't touch my eyeballs) or laser eye surgery (I've heard great things about it, but there's always some risk and I don't want to risk my vision) I'll stick with glasses. And of course with their ability to quickly darken to combat the sun, I never have to remember to carry sun glasses" |

I wear contacts, and I don't own a pair of glasses. I should probably get some in case my eyes were to get infected or something and I couldn't wear contacts, but what can you do?
