When you first visited this site it would most likely have been to discuss the N64 and it's games. However, we now have a strong community and a wide range of topics. So, do you still visit the site mainly for N64 discussion or are other factors more important?

Social discussion and the community. I've played N64 maybe once in the last half a year, and that was to laugh at a glitch. And I never post in the N64 section of the forums.

To compensate for my lacking social life.

Also because most members here are more mature and/or intelligent than at other forums.

EDIT: I also come here to procrastinate writing papers.

Get N or get out!
For N64 discussion, and because this is about the only dedicated N64 site I know of. Not to mention the community is above what you would find on most forums. B)

To be a part of this community. I first joined up for N64 discussion, but my reasons for staying are more associated with the friends I've made here and the community I've become a part of.

For me, it's a toss up between "discussion of games on other platforms" and "social discussion & to be part of the community"

... though I'm sure my "being part of the community" here is perhaps something a little less than an uncertainty... -_-

Same here. The "core posters" (Top Ten, minus Mr. Troll and Ragina) are pretty cool and generally unique.

And to insult Fagedy, which I haven't done much lately. I've been more focused on Mr. 378, but don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you buddy!

It's good to see so many replies. Like most people here, I really appreciate having a forum to post in that feels unique and has great members. Although I do still have an interest in the N64, most of my gaming is now on other systems.

Everyone who's ever posted here has helped make this site something special. Well done us. :)

If I invested the same amount of time and money into the system that you have, I would also hate the Nintendo 64.

Steve actually speaks for all of us.

I don't really quite understand it. I mean, an online forum is intended for reading and for posting. That's it. A forum does nothing else. You've not been ashamed to demonstrate that you have posted without reading each reply in a topic, and not a single one of your posts has been longer than one line of text. So you're not utilizing either purpose of our forum. In that sense, we're all as perplexed as Steve. He tends to be vocal about it, whereas the rest of us try to skip over your posts (easy to do, since they are always a single sentence) lest we reply and receive another equally substance-less post as our reward. No one actually hates you, we just wish you were posting, you know, something.

I like it when people make long posts, it gives me something to read and then reply to. That's like the entire point of using the Internet (except the porn, obviously -- but its mostly that intellectual stuff).

well, i at first joined to talk about the n64 ofcourse. i still come here for that, but i also enjoy the random chatter and interesting topics. so i guess it is a little of both of those :D

it is hard to find a decent collection of people on a message board who are generally nice, without having a half dozen or so losers. this place is an exception.

Oh no, I appear to be wrong on all accounts! At least on the accounts where I assume what people think. I wasn't trying to be an ******, I just hate one line, pointless, I'm-just-posting-because-I-can posts. If you enjoy wadding through them, I envy you.

I just hate one line, pointless, I'm-just-posting-because-I-can posts.

I've always thought that's what the Internet was created for. Then again, I never was good at deriving meaning from anything.
