Good idea to group them all together on one topic.

Woah... How long did it take to get a score that high?

More importantly, how does the scoring even work in Wetrix? It seems incredibly random...

It took about 40 minutes.

You get points for landing blocks like in tetris, but they key to getting lots of points is having one deep lake which you evaporate quite often, along with 4 duck lakes. Designate a special area for bombs and downers. I might well post a youtube video sometime, can't find anyone that has beaten it.

Maybe rather than doing challenges, this topic should be used to post highscores for any game to see if they can be beaten?

I was hoping for something more scientific, like "you get X number of points for each item placed, Y number of points for each square of water..."

Good idea. I'll check to see if I have any decent scores in some N64 games.

It isn't quite scientific I'm afraid. You get more points if you're on a higher level, the amount of water you have, the amount of ducks you have and if you have a rainbow. You can get points for forming a duck, placing "blocks", evaporating lakes, dry ice bonus' etc.

I'll post some more high scores later on.

Does anyone know how to do n64 screenshots? (not on an emulator)

Just take a photo with a digital camera. Having a LCD TV helps (you won't get as much flicker or reflections) but if that's not an option use a dark room and turn the flash on the camera off.

If you don't mind spending a little money then you could get a video capture card for your PC.

The adaptec Gamebridge works pretty well for taking screenshots/recording gameplay.

Course although they used to be ~$15 on ebay a year ago, there's one going for 70+. I've seen them at Fry's for less than $10 but that was a while ago, too (Have they been discontinued or something?).

I wouldn't mind more high-score based challenges (say highest score in Starfox 64/Lylat Wars) or say a custom scenario in Perfect Dark or something.
That one would have to go by honesty unless you recored the thing, but whos gonna lie about how many sims they killed on here? ^_^

Yeah, SF64 is a great game for highscoring in. My best total hits run in that game is a 2800 (that'd be a rough one to beat ;) )

Haven't tried Perfect Dark though, so I got no times for that. I don't have Goldeneye either, so can't submit anything there. Could try Mario Kart 64 next week though.

Well here's my old Area 6 video where I got 657 hits, but I've gotten 689 before. I'd like to get 700 there one day, but it's too hard.

One trick is that you can hold R and Z while charging so that your lock on's won't lock onto anything.

I tried TT'ing Moo Moo Farm on Mario Kart and got 1'24"03 with a 0'27"22 lap, which is cool I guess.

I really don't like double posting, but I can't find an edit button on my old post! If it's really a problem, maybe a mod could merge this post with my last? Or maybe direct me to wherever the edit button is hiding.

Anyways, I eventually did get a 700 score on Area 6 (with a video)

Also, I picked up Wetrix and tried scoring that game a bit. I got 6.7 million on Ice Layer A (a handicap mode). Also caught that on video.

Nice work, Zallard. Thanks for posting the videos. :) How many tries did the 703 point run take?

Thanks! Well, technically I've practiced the level on and off for the past 3 years or so, working up from 400 to the 500's, 600's, and finally 700+. 800 is basically impossible though, since even a tool assisted run got 769. It's still pretty cool to be able to say I got 700 points on Area 6.

I did something else awesome in SF64: I'm the first one to double the medal requirement on Zoness!

A video of 502 hits on Zoness.

I'm still working on my F-Zero X times for time to time and recently got the world record on Big Blue (1'02"659 PAL) :) . This is pretty much the result of playing the game well over 1000 hours (over 10 years). It's theoretically possible to get times under a minute on PAL so good luck ;) .

I reckon I can beat your time...

...but for it to be fair I'd need 1000 hours or ten years to practice. I'll post my results in 2019. ^_^

Seriously though, that's an awesome time. :)

I will have to try seeing how fast I can beat big blue.

I am really curious to compare my death race record time with other fzero x players. I thought I was really good at that when I was little, curious to see if that is true haha.
