Since the new Bond film has been announced (with the stupid name "Quantum of Solice", I hope they change it) I was going to put up a poll for the best Bond (Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan or Daniel Craig), but then I thought I'd also add the best Bond girl, best Bond film, best Bond title song and best Bond villain, so a poll is sort of out of the question. Anyway, what's your opinion? My favourites: Best Bond? Sean Connery, although Brosnan comes very close. Like most people, the one actor I thought didn't suit the part at all was George Lazenby, ironic really, as his one Bond film (On Her Majesty's Secret Service) is one of the best. Best Bond film? Maybe Casino Royale (it's the only Bond film I've only seen once, so I can't be sure), failing that, probably Goldfinger or From Russia with Love. Best Bond girl? Famke Jansen (Onatop, the Russian assassin from Goldeneye). Yummy! To be honest, this catagory isn't too fair, as many blokes (like me) will pick the bird they most fancied, as opposed to which female in the film(s) was the best story/character/acting wise. Still, most birds (or gay blokes) would do the same for the Best Bond question, so who cares about being sexist. Just give me Famke Janson, preferably without the psycotic tendancies (if such a woman exist...). Best Bond song? Probably For Your Eyes Only, by Sheena Easton, or Nobody Does it Better by Carly Simon. Best Bond villain? Elliot Carver (Tomorrow Never Dies) was good, and not over the top. But Max Zorin (A View to a Kill) was very good too. So was Sean Bean (Goldeneye), Scaramanger (The Man With the Golden Gun) was great (but you'd expect that from Christopher Lee), and Gustav Graves (Die Another Day) was great too. Ideally I'd say Robbie Coltrain (who always steals the show in anything he's in), as Zukovsky, but he's not really a Bond villain, so I can't. So I think I'll have to say Max Zorin, played by the brilliant Christopher Walkin. Best Bond car? I've not much of a clue, really, as I'm not a car person. I liked the one in Goldfinger, and the one in The Living Daylights. And the invisible car would be great to own, but it doesn't belong in a Bond film. Best Bond gadget? The jetpac from Thunderball. What are your favourites? |

Clearly Goldneye is the end all of Bond movies. Great music, lots of action, good villain, and so forth. I'd have sex with it, if only the DVD had the proper anatomical parts for the activity. Goldfinger, Moonwalker, the Spy Who Loved Me, The Man with the Golden Gun, and a few others are pretty great. I'm actually more of a fan of the Roger Moore movies than I am of Connery. Brosnan played the part pretty well, but the films themselves went progressively downhill, I think. I thought Casino Royale was disappointing. The villain and the plot around the poker game were pretty lame, though the new actor did a good job with the part. It's really hard to complain about a Bond movie though -- I mean, it's Bond. He's the man. What's not to like? Did you know that one of the women at the pool seen in For Your Eyes Only was a transsexual? It's true! A lot of people think the legend is that the main actress was the transsexual. I doubt she appreciates that. |

Favourite Bond: Sean Connery, without a shadow of a doubt. That man has charm oozing out of his sweat pores. Best Bond Film: Diamonds Are Forever. Best Bond Girl: Izabella Scorupco, who played Natalya Simonova in GoldenEye. I had an instant crush on her when I saw GoldenEye for the first time, which also happened to be my first introduction to James Bond. Best Bond Villain: Jaws. Duhhhhhhhhhhh. I'm also a huge fan of Dr. Kananga (AKA Mr. Big), the main villain from Live and Let Die. Best Bond Song: Live and Let Die. Best Bond Car: Aston Martin DB5. THE Bond Vehicle. Best Bond Gadget: The laser watch. |

You guys actually rate Goldeneye? It's a good movie by it's own right, but it can't compete with the earlier Bonds. Favorite movie: You Only Live Twice Favorite Bond: Connery Favorite song: Goldfinger Wasn't so much of a fan of Casino Royale, but I did like the new actor. This topic makes me feel like having an Alan Partridge-esque Bond marathon. |

Best Bond I really like Timothy Dalton. Best Bond film I love Dalton's films, obviously (The Living Daylights and License to Kill). Live and Let Die is also one my favorites. Best Bond song The Living Daylights, The Spy who Loved me, A View to a kill and License to kill are all pretty good. Best Bond villain Dr Kananga (Live and Let Die), Max Zorin (A View to a Kill), Goldfinger (...well, Goldfinger ), Gustav Graves (Die Another Day), Franz Sanchez (Licence to Kill) and (to a lesser extent) General Orlov (Octopussy). My favorite would either be Kananga or Max Zorin. |
