Lol, nice pics. Anyway, welcome to the forum Damion_Michaels. What do you think of the change to Chad Ocho Cinco? I think it's ridiculous that his jersey maker is giving him a hard time over the change and on my fantasy football league his name has been changed back to Johnson for the season.

Once again, welcome!

In a way I think it's unfair because Chad DID legaly change his name....in another however, Chad Ocho Cinco did in fact sign a legal contract entitled "players association" agreement. What this contract does is allows the NFL to use your name, pictures, your character in general, in different mediums other than football. Mostly they use this contract to allow game developers like the EA and their Madden series, to legaly put players in their games. Not all players are represented and you'll see that their number and name is all that is given in them games, followed by a shadow image. Just the same, NFL shops have players sign the contract in order to lawfully distribute clothing articles and merchandise in that player's name. Chad Ocho Cinco did unfortunately signed that contract. And that DOES give them the right to hold him back from using the "Ocho Cinco" last name untill they can clear out the fresh stock of jersey's and clothing articles made with the Johnson tag, just this year. Basically he's making the various NFL shops angry because it hurts their sales. What is happening is Chad is being presented with a couple of choices. He can litterally buy out all his old stocks himself and begin using the Ocho Cinco name as little as next week, or wait untill they can sell off most of the wares themselves, and keep his Johnson name untill they can.

On any other occasion I'd agree this is ridiculous. But no one forced Chad to sign the contract either. All NFL players have the right to choose weather they want to sign the "player's association" contract or not. Were I him, i'd just shut them up and buy my own stock back. It isn't like the man don't have the money to do so.
