Majoras Mask - graded

Graded games suck, it's a fact. Videogame grading's still a relatively new concept but already scumbags are making craploads of money from it (or trying to). Take, for instance, a relatively common game like Majoras Mask. Now get a mint condition copy and send it off for grading. End result? This:

It's graded so it must be worth $800. FFS.

:o Whuuu? You gotta be kidding me! The dude selling that must be smoking some crank or something funkier because that's insane! Iv'e seen a few NES games on ebay done up that way too. I enjoy a collection of nice looking video games myself but somehow this is going to the next level. Back a few months ago on Amazon...they were trying to sell a brand new factory sealed Metal Gear Solid; Twin Snakes for the Gamecube, priced at a whopping 1,000 dollars!!! And that game was NOT graded either. Just a simple shrink wrapped Gamecube release for a thousand bucks.

Where in the world are they getting their blunts?

I'm not familiar with this grading concept so let me see if I have this straight. This guy sent this game off to some website to have its condition "officially" graded, as well as placed into a plastic case so that it may never make a child happy, it gets the highest score because it's in immaculate condition, and suddenly it's worth $800? I guess this guy is waiting for an obsessive-compulsive buyer to come along who must simply have games in the best possible condition? ...Collectors have hit a new low.

Does anyone else think it is ironic that the holographic Collector's Edition of Majora's Mask is actually more common than the regular edition?

That's because Nintendo (realizing it's appeal to gamers) must have decided to hault production of the regular release and increase it on the collector's edition. In the end it's all about the money, and if we are going to be a sentimentally attached gamer, Nintendo will oblige.

One has a holographic front to the box, one doesn't.
