I got a Xbox 360 and I only have this one place to put it. Im puting my 360 horizontal under my tv (just like alxbly has his). The space for the 360 is 11cm in hight and the frame of the Xbox 360 is 8.3cm. So it means my 360 air vent only has 2.7cm to breath. I dont know if thats ok cuze I dont want my 360 over heating. I wish my camra was working. lol it sounds like a math qustion ....well it is kinda. I hop you guys can understand what im talking about lol.

It doesn't seem like it would be enough room, but why don't you try playing the 360 for a certain period of time (30 minutes or whatever) when it's in an open area, and then feel the temperature. Then let the 360 sit for a little bit so it cools back down to room temperature. Then put it in that tight area and play it for the same amount of time, and once again feel it to see if there's a noticeable difference in temperature between the two. If it's a lot hotter, then it probably wouldn't be a good idea to keep it in that space. If they're about the same temperature then you'll be ok. |

ok thanks I'll give it a try
and if it is hotter maybe I can switch the spot with my PS2. The one bad thing about switching the spot is that my dog can get at my 360. Stupid dog <_< lol

It's almost definitely not enough space to properly ventilate the console. You also need to think about the space behind the 360, as that's where most of the hot air comes out. If you put your hand behind the 360 when it's on you can feel it. Is it an enclosed cabinet? If it is then I'd move the console as soon as you can, otherwise you're gonna end up having problems.

If there's room at the back then it might be alright. I'd be tempted to put it somewhere where the sides have a bit more space for ventilation, just to be on the safe side... Remember to keep the power brick off the carpet as well. Anyway, paranoia aside, how are you enjoying the 360 so far? What games did you get? |

Those are all good games and Dead Rising is one of my own favorites. Bioshock is the only one I've not played yet, how is it? the reviews have all been excellent so I'm really just waiting to find it for a good price on ebay. |

I'm buying this game for $25 from my brothers friend next week. It was too scary for him... He also recently got Assassin's Creed. Hopefully that also frightens him. |

From Gamespot: 360 price drops in Europe "Microsoft confirms rumours that the Xbox 360 will be getting a price cut; Arcade version now the cheapest console in the region. By Emma Boyes, GameSpot UK Posted Mar 10, 2008 2:20 pm GMT Let the price wars commence--Microsoft has thrown down the gauntlet and cut the price of all Xbox 360 SKUs in Europe. The Arcade pack will have a recommended retail price of £159.99 (down from £199.99), the Premium pack will be £199.99 (down from £259.99), and the Elite pack will be £259.99 (down from £299.99). The price drops are effective from this Friday, March 14, and notably the new recommended retail price for the Arcade version brings it in cheaper than the Wii--which at £179.99 has been the most budget-conscious next-generation console option since its launch in December 2006. Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business Europe's VP, Chris Lewis, commented, "History shows that £159.99 is the price point where a console's audience begins to expand, and with these new ERPs in place we're ready to bring more consumers into the Xbox 360 world." The company also claimed that the 360 is now the number one next-gen console in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, where it holds 42 percent of the market "in terms of life-to-date revenue." Microsoft also boasted of the high attach rate for the 360, with seven games sold per console, compared to 3.5 for the Wii and 3.8 for the PlayStation 3". http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6187433.html?a...estnews;title;0 The battle continues. No news about a US price drop as of yet but expect it soon. For many people the main reason behind not buying a new games console has been the price. The question is, will this price cut be enough to boost 360 sales and will the other console manufacturers follow suit? PS3 will probably be the worst hit from this price drop since it's still losing a lot of money per console manufactured and also the 360 tends to stamp more on Sony's toes than Nintendo's. So... cue "cut price red ring of death" gag.

Was this the first price drop in Europe, or the second? If the 360 becomes $250 in the US, Nintendo still won't drop the price of the Wii unless sales start to slow. Also, can Sony really afford to drop the price of their system? Last I heard (which was many months ago), they sell their system at a loss, and game sales haven't been so good. |

One problem Sony has is that people will buy a PS3 simply because it's one of the cheapest Blu-Ray players available. I know several older people who have done this and haven't bought any games for it, nor will they ever. |

It's the second price drop for the 360. The Premium started at £289.99, went to £259.99 and will soon be only £199.99. The Elite model has also dropped in price twice so far but I can't remember it's original price point. Sony has already implemented a few price drops by changing which SKU is available. The 60gb model originally sold for £425, now the only PS3 available in the UK is the 40gb which is between £280-£300, depending on where you look. |

I hadn't heard of this, but I'm glad to. Maybe this will help cut down on all of those cheating bastards. That's the one great thing about Nintendo's online: even if you could cheat, there is no reason to!
I think just about everyone is different in real life than they are on forums. For example, I swear a lot more in real life than I do on forums, mostly because forums don't allow it. I hate to censor myself so I mostly try not to swear at all, doesn't always work though (see above). |

Well, to ME this was news, I haven't read it before so even though it's "old", that doesn't make it useless And why do a lot of people always feel the urge to point out that something is "old"? <_< *lmao at the thought of picturing an entire classroom filled with internet geeks at history class. Every time their history teacher tells them anything, the entire class responds with "OLD!!1!!one!!1!1!!11!!"*

It's also a negative. My Xbox 360 "gamerscore" may just be a number but it keeps me interested in some games for a long time... way after I'd normally give up. I just want the achievements! It sounds corny but it works quite well. Cheaters are pretty easy to spot; all the achievements for a game unlocked at the same time is huge giveaway. Now they'll be even easier to spot. But you'll get cheaters on the Wii as well... if they don't already exist. There's always someone who's willing to cheat just to get an easy win, regardless of what system you're playing on. |

Are there even any cheat devices available for Wii yet? I don't think there are but I don't keep up with this sort of thing. Cheating to raise a score is already pretty low, but on Wii it's just pointless. |

Cheats are always useless, unless it grants you access to stuff you'd normally won't be able to have access to. What's the fun in playing a game if your character can't die, or you have unlimited ammo, or access to any level you want, or etc. etc. etc. |

Because some of us suck at games, but that shouldn't eliminate us from enjoying games anyway. I require help to get through games all the time and cheat devices and in-game codes are a godsend for me. I'd never cheat in a multi-player or online game context, nor would I cheat to increase something like a gamerscore. But to get through a tough game so I can see how it ends and what happens in the story? Hell yeah! |

If I were to get a 360, my priorities would be these: Lost Odyssey -- there aren't enough traditional RPGs these days! Mass Effect -- For the sex, obviously. Ikaruga -- The best shooter ever made, and that is not an exaggeration. It really deserves the praise it gets. Call of Duty 4 -- From what I've seen on Youtube, that 6 hour campaign is better than sex (not that I would know recently! )Eternal Sonata -- an RPG about Chopin? Good enough for me. |
