Pop Tarts used to be a somewhat-acceptable breakfast food, but almost every flavour available now seems to resemble a dessert and is overloaded with sugar. Even the few remaining fruit flavours now have frosting on them; the only non-frosting flavour left is strawberry. It's been pushed to a small space in the corner of the shelf and is often sold out, so I'm not the only one who misses the simplistic flavours of Pop-Tarts. I don't know how Pop Tarts can still pass as a breakfast food; with all those empty calories they're a lot more in line with desserts. If I eat that much sugar, it's going to go straight to my butt. I'd have to do, like, 25 minutes of exercise just to work that off. Just look at this listing of flavours from the back of the box: Chocolate Chip Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Chocolate Fudge Cookies 'n Creme Hot Fudge Sunday Strawberry Milkshake It's like I'm naming flavours of ice cream. |

I don't know if Pop Tarts are even still on sale in the UK? Regardless, they're too sweet. Cornflakes or toast for me. Sometimes a banana.

According to Wikipedia, Pop-Tarts are still available in the UK, but only in chocolate or strawberry flavours. I don't like them all that much, but they are a good thing to have around for the times when I'm running late and want to just grab something to eat on the go. Usually for breakfast I sit down with a bowl of plain oatmeal, shredded wheat, Malt-o-Meal, or one of those other "boring" cereals. But with the dessert flavours taking over, I'm going to have to find another sensible on-the-go food. |

Although I enjoy the occasional pop-tart, I don't think they taste like food. I believe them to be some sort of Sugar/Silicon compound. And like you, I also prefer the un"frosted" "strawberry" ones |

It's funny how the "ice cream" series of Pop Tarts don't taste anything like ice cream. The only one I like is the Chocolate Chip kind. |

It isn't my favourite, blueberry is -- er, was, it's just the only non-frosted flavour I can find nowadays. I could have sworn they had grape at one point, those were good too. Exactly. They aren't nearly as good as the desserts they try to imitate, so they aren't worth the empty calories. |

I wasn't aware they had unfrosted blueberry. I'd probably prefer those if it weren't for the plastic topping. Blueberry is my 2nd favorite fruit, right behind kiwifruit. Maybe you should start a petition or something...

I doubt it would do much good. I'd think that if the dessert-type flavours weren't good sellers then they wouldn't be replacing the regular flavours. Most people in this country eat junk for food. The only petition I found with a Google search were ones for bringing Pop-Tarts back to the UK and Australia. |

They should stop with the lame gimmicks and just give us regular Pop Tarts. You know, the kinds that taste like fruit and actually taste like it's meant to. |

I always considered Pop tarts to be a snack food. Usually a little midnight snack, just pop them into the toaster, grab a glass of ice cold milk and enjoy.

This might be a weird question, but... what are Pop Tarts? I don't think I've ever seen that here in Belgium. |

They're pretty much like fruit bars, but with filling and frostings and stuff on top. |

Nah, it's not weird. Their availability is scarce outside of the US. Here's the Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop_tarts They are a very American food, since most Americans are self-loathing fatasses who don't give a f*ck about the sh*t they eat. Ha ha, sorry about that... |

They are so bad for you, I can't believe they try and advertise them as "nutritious" hahahhaha. Like you should give them to your kids for breakfast everyday . (if you want to kill them) |
