^_^ I'd like one, but I dunno if I can really justify it. My Wii doesn't get much use and I'd be silly to throw away £180 on another one.

But... I still might... ^_^
You could always sell the white one if you didn't mind giving up your Wii Console Number, message data, gameplay records, downloaded games, and saves for online games. And also sell your current copy of Wii Sports Resort.

Anyways, Nintendo just announced a new WiiWare game on the Nintendo Week show which appears on the Nintendo Channel (sorry alxbly...). A new ExciteBike! Sounds like it could be good, I'll let you guys know next week when they reveal more.

Quote:

Nintendo unveiled Excitebike World Rally for WiiWare on their video series "Nintendo Week."

Set for a November 9 release, the title will be a remake of the NES title, featuring the classic theme song and 3D graphics reminiscent of the original NES game.

The biggest feature in Excitebike World Rally will be a new online mode where players can drive around with other players around the world using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The track editor will also be present in the game, and players will be able to play the game either using motion controls or with the Wii Remote as a classic NES controller.

The next episode of "Nintendo Week," which has a new episode every Monday on the Wii's Nintendo Channel, promises more information on the title.

Ahh, about time Nintendo decided to start milking other colored Wiis. I mean...what would you rather have Nintendo focus on: better games or different colored consoles? Obviously the colors...

I feel bad for the people that stole my Wii. Assuming they plan on using it and not just selling it, they're going to be disappointed. (This is a joke)

EDIT: The Excitebike game seems promising though.

Kind of actually looking forward to this, even though I played the crap outta Excitebike 64. (So much so that I unlocked the "original Excitebike 3D", which seems to essentially be Excitebike:WR with rougher edges and no online...)

Now... if only Nintendo would release MORE than just World of Goo for purchase on Amazon.com... <_<

Cheesy show I know. People always comment on how the girl is "hawt" but I never see anyone compliment the guy. He is pretty... blah though, it's too bad they couldn't have gotten somebody handsome to go along with her.

Traitor.
That game looks too complex, one of the reasons why I like ExciteBike above all else is because of its relative simplicity.

I think I may start strictly enforcing topicality. I'll probably end up modding myself a few times, but it will be worth it.

That game isn't made by Nintendo, one of the reasons why I like ExciteBike above all else is because it's made by Nintendo. :n64:

Fixed.

If you honestly believe that then there's no point discussing it with you.

Anyways, has anyone yet heard of the new Disney game called Epic Mickey? It was announced a while ago but I haven't seen anyone mention it. Here is some more information:

The concept art was far more interesting than the end product seems to be.

But it's still at early stages so lets hope they can make something good from it. :)

"Baby and Me special edition puts everything else to shame

Making-of DVD? Download code for an exclusive shield to block projectile vomit? No, no. 505 Games' upcoming Wii-exclusive Baby and Me takes the whole special edition thing to a whole new level - it comes with a creepy doll.

Better yet, you're supposed to strap your Wii Remote to it for a stunning display of just how far humanity has come. By rocking the disturbing creature in your arms, you'll also be rocking an on-screen baby in Baby and Me. That's intense. But just check out all the other features!

* Your baby reacts by giggling, gurgling or crying through the Wii remote
* Ten Baby Mode games including feed baby & send baby to sleep
* Eight Play Mode games including rattle, catch, clap & balloons
* Balance Board support: rock baby to sleep, burp baby, teach baby to walk
* Customise baby with new clothes, accessories and playrooms

Wow, there's even Balance Board support! Could you just imagine that doll crying through the tinny, distorted Wii Remote speaker? Absolutely terrifying.

Baby and Me launches in Australia next month. Don't worry if the special edition is out of stock (it'll be bigger than Modern Warfare 2), as the standard game also includes a bonus holster so you can attach the Wii Remote to another creepy doll instead. Or a toaster".

^Oh...my...God...

Moving on to less disturbing matters, has anyone else picked up the Metroid Prime Trilogy? In my opinion it's the greatest trilogy deal in video game history. To have these three amazing games one a single disc for the price of one is just unbelievable.

This trilogy has given me one of those unfortunately rare moments when I'm proud to be a Wii owner. ^_^

I already own all three games so there's no point. But for anybody who missed out on them then it's a great buy.

I've always thought that taking pride in console ownership is a silly concept. In any case, it sounds to me like you haven't played very many Wii games.

You're right, I haven't. I only own four Wii games: Metroid Prime Trilogy, The Conduit, House of the Dead: Overkill and Mario Kart Wii (all of which are absolutely stellar titles).

There's so many Wii games I want, but they cost so much money! :omg: :richman:

And yes, I know how incredibly lame it is that I have a Wii but don't own Super Mario Galaxy. :(

Amen to that. There are several games that I'm absolutely eager for. Let's see:
Mario Kart Wii
Mario Party 8
The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night OR
The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon (I'm a PS1-Spyro fanatic, and although the newer games are apparently worse, I just have major cravings for a new Spyro venture)

As it is my birthday today (I felt it necessary to post on such a momentous occasion), you would think that I could use my received money ($225) to partially quench my thirst by investing in one or two of them. Alas, I am instead going to buy a GameCube controller and memory card, plus Super Mario Sunshine, which I have never played (ridiculously excited to give it a razz, being a Super Mario addict). The rest of the dosh is probably going to be saved up. Or used to buy one of the Wii games. Or Rayman DS. Hmm. Also, please don't wish me a Happy Birthday, as I will feel as though I manipulated you into it.

Cheers,
Franklint

Is anyone gettting CoD 4: Modern Warfare for Wii? I picked up a Nintendo magazine at the newsagent today and it has an entire feature on the game. It looks pretty damn impressive, I must say it almost looks tempting enough to pry me away from my New Super Mario Bros Wii purchase in the near future.

EDIT: Haha, nevermind. I just played it at a friend's house. It looked great, played beautifully, but eh...it just wasn't like playing it on a PS3/360. New Super Mario Bros Wii it is. ^_^

Haha, sorry buddy, but I actually don't play Wii games online. I had trouble connecting my the Wii to the internet, so I eventually just gave up. If I do get motivated to get connected and take my Mario Kart skills to cyberspace, you'll be the first to know my FC.

Oh, I think I should get it!

I've played all 3 before and was considering replaying them all until I heard about this...is there any major improvements...bah the first games didn't need any, but I'm very excited about the Motion controls in those games, the MP3 controls were amazingly good I thought.

Haha, the last new game I bought was Animal Crossing. And that wasn't really new just a re-do of an old game...Wonder if I should get into it again...

It's not worth buying at the moment if you already own all three, but the addition of motion controls in MP1 & 2 makes replaying them truly worthwhile. I suggest you wait for a price drop and then pick it up - you won't regret it.

Nah, I don't need a price drop, and I ain't getting a used copy.
It worth it.
Although might not get it just yet, still have to play through Tales of Symphonia and that will take me through till the end of the year AT LEAST (not much spare time to play these agems (AS IF Spell Check couldn't find the word "games" there. ) these days so games last me a while).

And I hope they removed the need for online stuff to get everything in MP3...not everyone has online...I Do, but...its not the kind of game where i wan tto connect with other people...its a solo game...traaahhh. >_<

They didn't. And to make matters worse, you can't trade with people who have Metroid Prime 3, you have to find people with Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Also, alxbly, I'm not sure why, but I feel like your signature has a negative undertone.

Elitism. ^_^

I've owned a Wii from day one and continue to buy Wii games, even some of those third party games aren't a new series/not a core series/not marketed well/not the developers best work/not as big budget/not released at the same time, etc, etc, etc, etc.

No, my sig was just my reaction to the spate of moaning about the wii. But now the dubious sig is gone! :)

So, back to Wii chat. What else is out this year? I've got RE: Darkside Chronicles as a must purchase and Sin and Punishment 2 looks decent (is that out this year)? I'm also gonna get Punch Out now that it's fallen in price over here.

I'm sorry, I guess I just took it the wrong way.

Anyways, I actually haven't been keeping up much with the recent Wii scene for various reasons. There are two games I've heard about that sound interesting, Rabbids Go Home and A Boy And His Blob. Rabbids Go Home stars the Rabbids from the Rayman Raving Rabbids series of minigame collections, and it is a sort of platformer where your goal is to collect everything (like Katamari Damacy, perhaps?). It's gotten some pretty good reviews so I might check it out. A Boy And His Blob is a re-envisioning of the NES game of the same name. It's a 2D platformer that's probably more of a puzzle game, because it's more about figuring out how to utilize the transformations of the blob.

Sin and Punishment 2 has already been released in Japan, but has a vague "Q1 2010" release date for North America and Europe.

Also of note, it was announced that Super Mario Kart will appear on the North American Virtual Console this Monday. It has already been released in Japan, so I'd think a PAL release wouldn't be too far behind. It was also confirmed that Pilotwings and Super Smash Brothers will appear before the year ends.

Rabbids Go Home sounds interesting. I dunno though, platforming games have to be white hot for me to play them these days and I'm getting my platforming kicks just now from Assassin's Creed 2. I'll probably wait for it to drop in price before I consider it.

Actually, there's a few Wii games I want after the stores start discounting them: Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility, Need For Speed Nitro, Resident Evil Zero Archives, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex and Formula 1 2009 all look good but I' don't really want to pay full price for them.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade looks like a lot of fun. Anyone else interested in this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bOb2lJuFM0

I'm trying to be interested in Red Steel 2 but the original was just soooooo unfinished. :( I know it was a launch game but it just shouldn't have been released in that state.

It's good to see Super Mario Kart get a VC release at last. :)

I've played Muramasa. I think it's pretty good mindless killing game.

F1 2009 is damn good even though it's got a few erratic frame rate issues (it's there but doesn't break the game). Damage model is a little iffy but apart from that, there's a slew of setup features, good handling model, and passable graphics. My brother insists on playing it with the Wii remote only (like a wheel) but to me it's inadequate. I've seen him play it though and sure enough works for him.

Funny you should say Red Steel 1 was crap. My brother finished it so many times I could not care to count. I think it's love it or hate it.

"EA Montreal shifting focus to 'big, blockbuster-type titles'

According to comments made to Edge by EA Montreal general manager Alain Tascan, you can expect more big action titles like Army of Two: The 40th Day from the studio. While previous Wii games, including Skate It, Boogie Superstar and the recently released Need for Speed: Nitro, have enjoyed acceptable levels of success, Tascan believes that targeting HD consoles with "fewer and bigger things" might yield improved results. It's a prudent approach, no doubt stemming from the publisher's recent layoffs.

Tascan explains that the Wii market is "a little bit unpredictable these days," further encouraging a shift to additional "big, blockbuster-type titles." We probably don't need Tascan to point out that Army of Two is "the most successful original IP EA has had in the last few years," since it's the first to get a big, blockbuster sequel ahead of Dead Space and -- can we dream? -- Mirror's Edge".

From: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/24/ea-montreal-shifting-focus-to-big-blockbuster-type-titles/

Shame, Need For Speed Nitro looks pretty good. Certainly better than Army of Two...
