I'm pretty sure it would work. I have an American copy of Animal Crossing and I live in the UK. Works just the fine. :)

The DS is region-free, you can get a DS from any country and be able to play games which were released in any country.

The only exception would be games which connect to Wii games. For example, if you have a North American copy of Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, you can't transfer data to a PAL copy of Pokémon Battle Revolution.

Has anyone here purchased Scribblenauts? (looks at floorcat) I'm really enjoying it, though I can see it getting old. The amount of possibilities are really impressive. Some of the cooler things I've brought into the world: (Spoilers, I guess).

1. Megalodon, the extremely large extinct shark species, which proceeded to eat piranhas...and me.
2. A mammoth, unfortunately I made (?) a T-Rex next, which ate it.
3. A black hole, to get rid of a tornado.
4. Hot-air balloon to reach a higher level.
5. A flamethrower, to burn down a house to rescue the cat on top.

I haven't played all too much of it (a little over twenty levels so far), but I really am having a great time with the concept. My mom and dad also think its cool, who haven't played videogames since Genesis Sonics and Super Mario 64, respectively.

Anyone else have any experiences to share?

Already? Gotta admit, I like the idea of larger screens. At this rate the DS will be HD before the Wii is... ^_^

Kidding!

Maybe.

Sorry, just noticed the stylus. I like this. :D It looks way more comfortable than the little DS stylus (styli?)...

The larger screens don't have an increased resolution. And that is why it is silly that Nintendo is comparing them to the iPhone, because the picture quality doesn't match up.

This is a pointless system revision, especially with the rumoured DS successor that's supposed to be revealed in late 2010. But that's nothing new for Nintendo. This isn't anything worth complaining about like I've seen some people do, as it isn't like it took up any R&D resource.

I think people who bought a DSi recently won't care if this new one didn't take up "any R&D resource". They'll be pissed that their brand new DSi is already OLD'D. And those people who just bought a DSi primarily because it had larger screens will be thinking :o >_<

I still like this though. I'll probably buy one just to play DS games on a significantly bigger screen. :)

Meh, it happens these days. People should know that when they buy something, the next big thing is no more than a year away. Just look at all of the various incarnations of the iPod, iPhone, etc. It sucks, but them's the breaks with technology.

I found the DS Lite to be rather uncomfortable so if this is larger then it might make it that much easier for me to hold. That's what I like about it. There sure will be a lot of options for me should I one day decide to buy a second-hand DS...

Though I actually wonder if the games might look worse on a bigger screen. Don't you think N64 games look better on a 21-inch screen than a 50-inch?

They looks sharper on a 21". But you see EVERYTHING on a 50". I don't mind, I like big screen action. ^_^

...are we still talking about games? :yeah:
