I decided to treat myself to a spanking new TV and after a lot of deliberation decided on a whopping 55 inch Sony Bravia 55EX711 LCD screen with LED edge backlight, Wifi and Internet video. It will be delivered tomorrow at 7 in the morning (!), i can hardly wait ! This will probably mean i'll get a PS3 as well. now i've got a full HD screen it would be pity not to use it

THATS SIIIICK! Im reppin a 42" Samsung LCD LED 720p right now! Its amazing with my 360 and im in love with it! Of course right after i bought it, they started coming out with all these new ones so the priced dropped 300$ but thats how it usually works with me. I definately want to get a TV thats WIFI ready and all that. none of that 3D garbage tho! -Corey |

exactly! it looks like $%^# and easily adds 50% to the price. and IMHO it's just a passing fad anyway, a marketing ploy to pick up the TV market slump. |

Nice one Mk II... that's a beauty! That definitely should provide for many fun hours of HD gaming/movies/etc. Once you get your PS3, get that sucker online (and post your PSN ID), so's we can do up some multiplayer!! ![]() 3DTV has definitely gotten a good share of flak... some of it justified, sure. But I personally think it's much more than a passing fad (aren't you brimming with anticipation for the 3DS??), and once the 3D TVs become more accessible (as standard LCD/LED/plasma TV's are becoming lately), I'm definitely jumping in. In fact, the only reason I haven't bought one already is because I'm sure the tech will reach a point (soon) to where the glasses and separate transmitter will be unnecessary... so I'd feel pretty dejected to have an "outdated" 3DTV requiring the silly glasses. |

This is one of the main arguments i hold against getting a 3DTV. Its hard enough remembering where i put the remote, nevermind glasses too!! Im not sure how "soon" it will be before this happens, but when it does, it will definately increase my interest. As of now im perfectly settled with my TV, the only thing i wish i had was one of those paper thin ones haha. -Corey |

different kettle of fish IMHO. It's all about content. There is no 3D content for TV. Post-processing won't solve that problem. For the 3DS, everyone will make programs geared to the 3D experience. Anyway, just took delivery of my new TV... it really is huge! It barely fits my furniture, just a few inches to spare. Havent got time to try it out now, im off to my first fleamarket of the day (wish me luck). Edited by Mk II, Jan 8 2011, 01:25 AM.

IIRC the proper line goes "as the actress said to the vicar"; followed by an oo-er sound. Anyway: pun intended ![]() BTW: i just finished the first Wii session on my new 55" LCD TV. WOW, just wow. Hooked it up using a cheap 3rd party component cable and it really rocks! I know many ppl are complaining the Wii doesnt look good on a Hi Def screen but i disagree. im sure a PS3 looks a whole lot better but that doesnt make the Wii look "bad". I have no choice. All of my old/new gaming is done on a 25" sanyo and a 13" rca! Try reading ps3 subtitles on a 13" screen

here's a picture to give you folks an idea how large a 55 inch screen is in real life. i've added a familiar video game console to provide some sense of scale. ![]() BTW: i've installed a Digital TV Module + smartcard yesterday so now i can watch hundreds of (HD) channels. Life will never be the same again |

Woah that IS huge! My 32' TV looks so puny compared to that! One of my new goals in life is to watch Tron: Legacy in 3D on blu-ray on a 55' 3D TV!
