Looks like we have a tie between the 360 and n64 for favorite consoles : P.

By far the best new generation system, and retro system of all time!!

Some good choices there. I'm with you on the TG16. :yeah:

and very interesting that you rate the Neo Geo CD right up there.
I know you specify that it's the console systems you've spend the most time gaming on, but still it's very seldom to see the Neo Geo CD on any type of list.

Was it mostly because perhaps you weren't able to get an AES or consolized MVS system? I mean the Neo Geo CD is great and all (I own one as well) but the load times on some of the games are just horrendous. That juggling monkey is just headache inducing.
The CDZ system is a little faster but still slow.

I guess though you mostly concentrate on games from let's say about 1997 or earlier? which have tolerable loading times. But the later games like Last Blade 2 are absolutely horrible and nigh unplayable on the CD system.

You are right. I have never been able to land an AES or consolized MVS system.
The NGCD load time has never seemed that bad with most games to me. I have the Sega CD, PS1, and the Saturn. All of those have their problems with load times concerning many games. And yes, at first, Last Blade 2 seems very horrendous but I did get used to it. It is only a few of the last games for the system that fall into that category with bad load time issues. My favorite genre in gaming is arcade type gameplay. So it is only understandable that the Neo Geo CD system will be on any list that I make.
If I was to name my most favorite system of all time it would be the Turbo Grafx 16. My favorite genre of games is the classic arcade shooter. On the Neo Geo CD the Samurai and King of Fighter series is among my favorites. Add Last Resort in there somewhere too. :yeah:

Well I'm not a shooter fan at all and not too big on RPG's either, but I still love the TG16.
My kind of games are the Bonk Series,
the solid arcade ports of Ninja Spirit and Splatterhouse,
the two awesome pinball games- Alien Crush and Devil's Crush (also 'Time Cruise' is quite good),
Legendary Axe, the two Neutopia games,
and of course 'Rondo of Blood' on the CD system- my favorite Castlevania game.

Retro Junkie, which Turbo system do you have?
I have a TG16 but tend to do most of my gaming on the Duo. Though as with most of these systems the sound is starting to fail. So probably looking to get myself either a Duo R or Duo RX system. They are much more reliable.

I have the,
Turbo Grafx 16- sound is still good on this system
Turbo Express- almost lost all sound, the system has to be warm for the video to start up. I wrap it in a heat pad before turning it on, starts faster that way.
Turbo Duo- sound is still good on it.
I have owned all of these systems from the day they were on store shelves. I play the TG16 the most because I play mostly Hucards. I have been thinking about picking up a PC Engine and I have thought about a Duo R. You listed some good games there. Love the Bonk games. There are only a few TG16 games that I don't like.

Wow, the original Xbox in a top 5. Never thought id see that one on the list...

That might be number 1 on my "Top 5 Least Favorite Consoles"

Its amazing the difference they made with the 360. Definately the biggest game system improvement from generation to generation.

The original Xbox was beast. Though I didn't realize it until 2010. I was more for the PS2 back in its day, but acquiring all of my PS2 games as their Xbox equivalents, as well as every game I've ever wanted, I finally realized how the controls, graphics, and features the Xbox offered were much better than the PS2.

Anyone wanna play some LAN based Xbox games online with Xlink? It would make me feel warm and fuzzy inside if someone here would like to match up in Tony Hawk's sometime.

It's in my top 5 because I got an xbox before a PS2, so I played greats like GTA3, Burnout 3, Timesplitters Future Perfect on Xbox first. Graphically, it kicked the PS2's ass and most multiplatform titles are much better on the Xbox than they were on PS2. It has some great games too;

Black
Burnout/Burnout 2/Burnout 3/Burnout Revenge
Conker
Doom 3
Elder Scrolls Morrowind
Fable
Forza
Halo/Halo2
GTA3/Vice City/San Andreas
Hitman 2
Jade Empire
Ninja Gaiden
Oddworld Strangers Wrath
Outrun2/Coast2Coast
Project Gotham Racing/Project Gotham Racing 2
Rallisport Challenge/2
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Serious Sam/Serious Sam 2
Timesplitters 2/Future Perfect
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3/Black Arrow

A lot of the top 360 series started out on Xbox. :)

I hate to revive an old topic but I came on to make a topic just like this and saw that one already existed. Anyway, my top 5:

2) Nintendo 64 - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
3) Dreamcast - Shenmue
4) Xbox 360 - Red Dead Redemption

10) Xbox - ???
