Haha wow, that just emphasises my point even further. Oh well Ubisoft, keep on blaming Nintendo for all your troubles. Whatever helps you sleep better at night.

They're commenting on the market, and it seems like the Ubisoft put out what they thought would sell reasonably on Wii and it didn't, and that was a risk increasingly fewer developers/publishers are willing to take. The evidence that anything other than Nintendo games are selling in their millions on the Wii is now pretty slim so why would they risk a big budget title on it? There you have the catch 22 situation. That said, they're still developing Red Steel 2, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Tom Clancys HAWX and publishing No More Heroes 2 for the Wii next year. All four have a lot of potential. ![]() |

Not really. Three out of the four have or will have superior versions (both in graphics and gameplay) on the xbox and ps3. Red Steel one was trash so it's hard to care about a sequel. If the companies want to suceed on wii they're gonna have to try harder. I have my wii homebrewed and these titles don't even make me want to go visit my local torrent site. It's funny to see them make a claim like that when quite a few of their franchises were never released on Wii, but I guess that means they are another company following a self-fulfilled prophecy. I also find a line like "games for gamers" to be hilarious; that is like making "food for eaters". I suppose now, when someone says "gamer" they really mean "teh hardkorez". Of the posted list of games, I have interest in three: Rabbids Go Home, Broken Sword, and Dawn of Discovery, all of which got good reviews. I also still want to check out both No More Heroes and Red Steel if that counts, mostly because they are often topics of discussion. In other news, EA is reviving the old arcade basketball series, NBA Jam. HE'S ON FIRE! Enough said. http://nba-jam.easports.com/home.action The director of MadWorld, Shigenori Nishikawa, has expressed interest in creating a sequel. It's from an interview in a magazine that hasn't hit the newsstand yet, but here's the quote I've seen: This reminds me, my copy of MadWorld is still sealed. It may remain that way for a while though... Also, Netflix video streaming will soon be available on Wii: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/13/technology/companies/13netflix.html This doesn't interest me, but I do wonder how popular this service will be on Wii. Because the secondary features of the Wii aren't really advertised, I'd assume that almost everybody who owns one bought it for games. Movie watchers probably already have the streaming service from some other device which does it better. |

Awww, I'm sure Ubisoft will be gutted that you don't want to make pirate copies of their games. They really must try better to please so that you'll rip more of their stuff.
But only two of the four are confirmed for other platforms (HAWX and Prince of Persia). No More Heroes 2 may be ported across eventually but that will depend on how well No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle sells on the PS3/360. Red Steel 2 is still a Wii exclusive. We'll need to agree to disagree on some of the points you've made. Yes, the likelihood is that the vast majority of multiplatform games will look better on PS3/360 and that's pretty much a given. Gameplay is harder to call; little is known about the next Prince of Persia game so it's maybe a little early to be so dismissive. HAWX I agree is likely to play better on 360/PS3 but could still be a good Wii title for anyone who doesn't own a 360/PS3. No More Heroes plays exceptionally well on the Wii and considering that it hasn't been released on 360/PS3 yet, you can't make a fair judgement call on what system it plays best on.
The first Red Steel was dire but mainly because it was rushed out for the Wii's launch. Red Steel 2 seems like it will be more polished, although, again, it's early days so we can't really judge it. In truth though, I also find it difficult to get excited about because the first title was so broken. But the potential is there (as it was in the first game)... and it's still difficult to tell whether Ubisoft will get anywhere near to making it live up to that. |

It would seem to me that Ubisoft is well aware of the reputation of Red Steel, so they appear to realize they have an uphill battle with getting people to give Red Steel 2 a chance. From what I've seen it looks promising; it appears to have been in development for a while and it will use the Motion Plus accessory, which gives it the potential to solve the control problems of the original that I've heard about. It's understandable to have skepticism, but it's at least worth it to read some reviews before dismissing it entirely.

From what I've experienced from wii motion plus, is it's a 50 dollar gimick, with little to no potential. It will need to prove it's self to me before I can lower my skepticism. Although I am a confessed Pirate I do purchase the occasional wii game. unfortunately these days they are few and far between. |

New mini Wiimotes are 25% smaller:![]() ![]() ![]() Unfortunately, attachment compatibility has been removed, so you can't use your nunchuk or classic controller with these. All right, since M&M's Kart Racing doesn't have its own topic for some reason, I guess I'll post this here. As I posted a month ago, I received M&M's Kart Racing for Christmas from my sister. I played it the other day, and here is my seven-point review of it: 1. Ugh. 2. AAUGH. 3. Darglefle 4. BLASPHEMY! 5. "Approaching sound barrier!" 6. Gooaugh 7. EEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeee It's all over with now though (yes I played through the whole game. It took an hour). I have just one question: what do I tell my sister? Should I be honest and express how bad it is? Or, should I try to think of something vague to say, which isn't a lie but sounds like it could possibly be positive? |

This place is perfect for Wii dicussions. In my opinion, I think the Wii is an great video game system that everyone can enjoy, regardless of ages. It is attracting non-gamers like never before, yet not neglect it's core gamers thanks to the Virtual Console and the steady stream of core games. It also has better third-party support then the past two consoles, and is well-worth the asking price of $200. Sure it's not perfect, but then again, nothing is. I play my Wii on an healthy moderation, although not every day, but I also don't let my console collect dust. |

To be honest, I'm not sure this will sell well. Endless Ocean has its own merits and for me it's an on and off kind of game. Slow and deliberate and I'm sure some gamers appreciate that. I'm fine with it although each time I've played and resumed, the interest dies down after a few sessions. When the sequel was announced interest for the first game drastically dropped to zero. I'm curious about those who are hooked with the game and I mean hooked from a long term perspective. I'd like to hear what in the first game held your interest, if you guys don't mind sharing.

Well my Wii has been getting some playtime lately, recently got No More Heroes and Metroid Prime 3 Corruption for my collection. Finished No More Heroes in preparation for the sequel, which I'll eventually get. Despite already completing MP3 forever ago I just had to finally get it for my collection once I saw it for only 20 dollars brand new. I also plan on getting some more Nintendo points (which magically become Wii points once transferred to the Wii) to purchase a couple Wiiware games. The main game being Mega Man 10 which comes out on March 1st. Can't wait to get that, and my other wiiware game I've been meaning to get is excitebike world rally.

@Applepieman: I've also been playing my Nintendo Wii a lot lately, especially since my computer has an harddrive failure (I'm getting it back this evening, I'm currently using my grandfathers's computer to type this). I'm currently playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, and Excitebots: Trick Racing. Someone should make another poll regarding our opinion on the system. |

It's understood by me, but it appears that alxbly needs some convincing. The first game didn't hold my interest, to be honest. It was the first Wii game that I bought (Wii Sports and Wii Play notwithstanding), but once I got another game, I never went back to it. The only reason I'm going to buy this sequel is because I want to play it with a friend. You don't want to know. |

It sounds like they've improved upon the formula in Endless Ocean 2 but we'll need to wait and see. Out of interest, how many people here actually finished Endless Ocean? Don't get me wrong, i enjoyed the game but it's by no means perfect. Pros: Unique gameplay Loads of atmosphere Lots to see and do Cons: Gameplay gets repetative quite quickly Online was restrictive; communication was limited and online play was region specific Graphics aren't great even by Wii standards - looks early PS2/Dreamcast So, you can maybe see why I'm reserving judgement on Endless Ocean 2 until I play it. I hardly play any games online these days so I can't see me rushing out to get a Wii Speak just for this. |
