It could be described as the ultimate Wii mod, and it certainly commanded a neat price.

PS: it sold on the 1st October, so apologies if you've seen this before. OLD!!! etc. ^_^

Got this email on Saturday:

"Dear Customer, Thank you for your request. Your Wii Jacket(s) are in the process of being despatched and will be with you within the next ten working days This e-mail is for information only. Please do not reply. Kind regards, Nintendo Customer Services".

I'll post impressions of the Wii Jackets when they arrive, although I don't think they'll make much difference... Has anyone else here received their Wii Jackets yet?

They feel quite comfortable, although this is more noticable when holding the Wiimote sideways (like in Excite Truck, Super Paper Mario, etc). In my opinion the Wiimote didn't really feel right when held sideways and the jacket makes it a bit more comfortable to hold in this position. If you hit someone with a jacketed Wiimote they might not bleed as much... well, maybe. The jackets are rubber, so they should be less likely to fly out a sweaty hand, and they're really easy to put on/remove from the Wiimote.

Not much else to say really. :-/

Have you tried putting them on other things? Other remotes, kitchen utensils, pets, your stapler, misc small objects, body parts, etc? You know you want to put it on the gearshifter in your car!

*Tee hee*

So I was bored today and said "I think I'll get a Wii". So I went into a store and asked for a Wii (without giggling!) and I got a Wii-block instead. Since I was already on Niagara Falls Blvd, which has like 40 department stores and strip malls within a mile, I went to a few other places. Then some Gamestop employee told me that they received 3 this morning and all of them were sold by the afternoon, and that it is common for them to sell so quickly.

I found this hard to believe. It's a year old and it's not yet the holiday season. But this was one Gamestop employee who didn't not know what he was talking about. The following stores didn't have a Wii.
-Walmart
-Target
-K-Mart (though I never actually confirmed this since I couldn't find an employee)
-Circuit City
-Gamestop (Because I walked past it to get from K-mart to Target)

A few weeks ago, I was at a store and someone came in and asked "can I get a Wii?" and I remember giggling in my head. He got his Wii and ate it too though. And I've seen them a few other places, not thinking they are apparently hard to find. I just looked on eBay and apparently they still sell with extraordinary mark up. Had I known, I would have bought every Wii I saw and opened a store called "Wii Fest"!

Anyway, round 1 to Wii.

Sidenote: PS3's are very easy to find. Who would have thought?

They're pretty hard to find down here as well. Not that they're uncommon, it's just that they sell so incredibly fast that I miss out every time I consider purchasing one.

I wonder who's buying them? I only know one person that owns a Wii (as opposed to like six 360 owners, and even some guy that bought a PS3!)

Hm, perhaps Nintendo are sending their own employees around the world and buying up every Wii from every shop, just so they can say they've outsold the XBox 360?

The Christmas shopping season officially starts on Oct. 15th. The stores realized that Halloween just wasn't profitable enough, so they've started Christmas earlier. With news of Wii's selling out everywhere (whether artificial or not), it wouldn't surprise me if people were buying them now and saving them for Christmas.

I've been wondering the same thing, I know hardly anybody with a Wii (at least not one as big as mine - OHHHH!). At least 90% of my friends that own a current-gen console all own 360's.

Strangely enough, I seem to know as many people with Wii's as 360's. The Wii owners include my brother's girlfriend, who has never expressed any interest in videogames before and a few girls at my work (who also never interested in gaming before).

Anyway, the forums in my work are full of "where can I get a Wii" threads, so it looks like the UK has ran out of Wii's as well.

In better news, you can get a Wii "family choice bundle" from Amazon.com for only $649!!! :o >_<

So that's where all the Wii's have gone -- Canadians are buying them!
