Yeah most games on the Wii are targeted to Non-gamers even though my bro in the next room has Wii i really haven't had a craving to play it. Mostly been playing N64 and 360 |

I don't know if Toys 'R Us only sells bundles, but that's all they had when I went there. This morning, I went on down to Wal*Mart when they opened, and there was already a line of people there. The store only had 15 units to sell, and the line was definitely longer than that, so I left. It's looking like I'll either need to camp out or wait a few months, though there's no guarantee that there will be less demand/greater stock later on. |

I got my Wii by luck, which is really the only way to get one at the moment. Gamestops (at least in November) received Wii's randomly during weekdays and would sell them on a first come basis. I called a Gamestop one day that had just received 15 units 5 minutes before I called. I drove over there and received the last one. Department stores like Target and Walmart hold onto their stock until the weekend (usually Sunday), so you have to show up early and get in line. If you use eBay or buy a bundle, you'll probably spend more than the normal retail price, and I don't think that's fair. It's mind boggling that a system with so few "killer apps" is so popular. |

Believe me, I know how it feels. I started searching for Wii's when they first came out, and it took me two months to get my hands on one. I remember going to Gamestop one time and there was one Wii left on the shelf and one person in front of me. The person in front took it...

I couldn't find one this week either. Some stores I went to even claimed they hadn't received any since before Christmas. It makes me wonder if the conspiracy theories about Nintendo holding back stock until SSBBrawl comes out are true. Or maybe they're diverting stock to GameStop to fill all of the pre-orders they had taken in? Hm... |

So any luck yet?? Hmmm... well, maybe I can help. Perhaps drooling over a picture of MY Wii might make you green with rage and blinded by jealousy... or something. ![]() *still covets former glory on The List* |

It was a cold morning on Sunday, only 4 degrees, not a cloud in the sky. Theres no worse site to see than the sunrise, as man was simply not meant to wake up early on this day of rest. With a cup of coffee in one hand and a slap glove in the other, I managed to keep myself awake as I went out and got a newspaper. While sifting through the various adverts, something jumped out at me like a spring-loaded boxing glove: Circuit City had the Nintendo Wii. There is was, mocking me with its very existence, daring me to go and get it. The store didnt open for three more hours, but I couldn't risk letting this one get away. Without thought of the mess that would result, I dropped my coffee cup and the paper onto the floor and darted outside to my car. With a prayer in my head, I hoped beyond hope this wouldnt be the day my car decided not to start. Ignoring speed-limit laws, I made it to the store in record time. The eerie calm of the battlefield made me uneasy, as I knew an epic battle would soon unfold. It didnt take long before another car showed up and parked directly across the lot from me, challenging me for my spot. We locked eyes and revved our engines, each of us daring the other side to make the first move. Before I knew what was happening, my foot slammed on the accelerator as I sped at the enemy with incredible velocity. The second before our head-on collision, another car came out of nowhere and crashed into the side of the enemy. There were now three of us vying for the Top Spot. While my original enemy recovered off to the side, I circled around and faced the newcomer. In an effort to taunt one another, we rolled down all of our windows and blared radio static at maximum volume. Once again, we charged at each other, and the duel was underway. Out from the bushes ramped two cars which quickly flanked us, then side-swiped us off course. I spun around the parking lot like a hoola hoop on a hyperactive kid, but I retained my grip on the wheel. After regaining control, I turned back towards the Top Spot to find that we were all aiming towards it. The five of us all hit the accelerator and torpedoed toward the spot, wondering who would chicken out first. But no one did. Our five cars collided on the Top Spot with incredible force. Metal twisted like aluminum cans in a blender, glass shattered like a falling snowstorm. All of our cars were now a pile of metal and glass shards, so we had no choice but to leave their safety and have a melee out in the cold in front of the doors. The five of us met at the door in a circle and agreed to one ground rule: no crotch shots. With a step back, we all pulled a weapon out from somewhere on our person and formed a battle stance. The older guy wielded a Guitar Hero guitar and smashed it over the young guys head. The teenager fired the NES Zapper at the woman, but she blocked it using Links Shield. I charged up my Super Scope and aimed it at the older guy. Noticing my actions, he quickly picked up the guitar and played a high note, piercing my ears. The young guy strapped his Virtual Boy onto the older guy, which caused him to drop his guitar in blinding pain. I shot the charged shot at the young guy, but he quickly rolled out of the way. Meanwhile, the teenager continued firing the NES Zapper at the woman, but she proved quite capable with the shield. A shot ricocheted off the shield and creamed the teenager, knocking him to the ground. The woman clipped an N64 Bio Sensor to the teenagers ear and played Tetris very poorly, which caused his heart rate to rapidly increase. Before it increased enough to cause a heart attack, the young guy inserted a memory card into the womans mouth and selected to format the card, thereby erasing the womans memory. During that time, I snuck a Rumble Pak into the young guys pants. The young guy faced me, pulled out two Dance Dance Revolution dance mats, and threw them onto the ground. We danced to the beat of music coming from an unknown source, though he was a much better dancer than I. Just when he was about to win, the Rumble Pak went off in his pants, causing him to fall to the ground. I stood over the fallen enemies with merriment. Little did I know, the teenager was still conscious, and slowly reached for his NES Zapper. Before he could take a shot, an employee came out to stop the madness. Rather than allow this nonsense to continue for another hour out in the cold, he handed out vouchers for the Wii. The voucher guaranteed the Wii as long as it was picked up sometime that day. With that assurance, I helped the others to their feet. We all shook hands and went our separate ways, though the woman couldnt remember where she lived. I wanted to frame the voucher, but that would mean I couldnt turn it in. When I finally came home with my prize, I took care of the first order of business; I opened it up and removed the Wii Remote Jackets, then promptly burned them. After they became a steaming pile of ashes, I grabbed the mop and soaked them up, along with the coffee and paper mess I had made earlier. Satisfied that all was well, I returned to bed and slept for several more hours. Though I bought it to play it, I don't think I'm going to. Such an effort can only be rewarded through a self-congratulatory display. Therefore, I'm going to put it on top of my house in a trophy case, for all the world to see. |

Wii Jackets feel better when you're using the Wiimote on it's side (like you do in Excitetruck and Super Paper Mario). Congratulations though, you have obtained the best selling but hardest to find of the current gen consoles. Now comes the questions: 1) What games do you have? 2) What games do you plan to get? 3) Why no love for Eternal Ocean? 4) BLASPHEMY!!! 5) Will you have your Wii hooked up to the internetz so you can downlaodz the gamez and send mezzagez to the N64 Forevarz crew? 6) Take Wii Play off your list, it's total ****. Fun? Oh noes... And I mean "Oh noez!" so you knowz I'm serious. Sorry, "seriouz"!!! 7) Something about a stoat. I demand you give me your Wii friend code, even if you're not online. Wait...

1) Just Wii Sports and Wii Play 2) First one will likely be Smash Brothers. After that, I'm not sure... 3) I gotta read some reviews first, but it does seem interesting. 4) Yeah I know, this is going to delay completion of my N64 collection. 5) Yep, I've got wireless internet. I've already received some belated messages from Nintendo, informing me of new channels like the Check Mii Out channel. Didn't that come out months ago? 6) Too late... 7) I'd be more excited if I found a stoat. I don't know what it is yet, sorry.

That's okay. Go to your Wii menu, click on message icon to take you to the message board. Then click the "create message" icon, then the "address book" icon and you should be able to see your Wii's number. It took me ages to find that out. And when you're in address book, register me so that we can exchange messages and play games. My number is 2326 4589 7536 6941.Now... go buy RE4 and Endless Ocean. Oh and that Mario game is sort of okay... it's a bit kiddie though...

Wii with me too Mop! 2335 1167 2347 0023 So you will be getting Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and RE4 immediately, yes? Endless Ocean just came out in the US like today, as did No More Heroes. Both look fantastic and their reviews aren't turning out too shabby either. And of course, if you haven't played Twilight Princess yet... (you did own a Gamecube, yes?) |

Yep, I still have a GC, the Wii did not replace it. I still use the GBPlayer every now and then, but mostly, I like to set only one purpose for each device. You won't see me playing music CDs on my DVD player just because it can. I had planned to get TP for the GC, but I didn't want to pay $50 for it. Now I'm not sure which version I'll get... though the decision will likely be settled on whichever is cheaper. |

...and I thought Johnny Lee had Wii Remote functionality covered! ^(link) ... however, what surprises me most about this video is the fact that this fine fellow, practically bunk-mates with our very own alxbly, shares not a single thing with him/his countrymen. 1) He's not wearing a kilt. 2) If he is, he's not proudly displaying the fact. 3) Not only is he not playing a set o' pipes, but he fails to even allude to the sacred satchel, which is ridiculous seeing how he obviously enjoys making goofy noises. 4) He's not wearing a kilt. 5) He doesn't sound an ounce like Groundskeeper Willie. So as far as I'm concerned, this video is blasphemy! |

http://kotaku.com/359754/nintendo-announces-wii-pay--play "Today, during a GDC presentation, Nintendo's Takashi Aoyama announced a new expansion to Nintendo's Wi-Fi services called Wii Pay & Play. Aoyama explained that Nintendo will begin "collecting fees for some services [that] will allow us to adapt flexibly." In other words, by subsidizing additional, unnamed service and feature costs to consumers, Nintendo feels they can explore new concepts and channels. He added that it was a Nintendo initiative to avoid misleading consumers into thinking they can buy games that can be played entirely free when they cannot (whether or not this implies an initiative to begin charging for multiplayer content was unclear). To aid in a clear cost presentation, the blue WFC logo will be joined with a similar red logo featuring the line "Pay & Play." Sounds fair to me as I don't mind paying for a good online service. Could this perhaps tie into the Mario Kart channel by any chance? Time will tell. Fingers crossed that we might see a more convenient and personal alternative to friend codes... |

Let the import mania begin! The Wii's Freeloader works in the same way as the Gamecube Freeloader, and lets you play games from any region. http://us.codejunkies.com/Products/Wii-Fre...__EF000593.aspx |

I'm sure a firmware update will render it useless. Nintendo can't have people buying games for regions they don't live in -- that would be madness! Imagine, being able to play any game you wanted. Everyone would be satisfied! What a nightmare! |

Yeah, give it a few months and there no doubt will be a firmware update. Then no doubt Datel will then patch the freeloader so it works for another two or three months before a further update makes the patch useless. And so the fight will continue... |
