Do both analog sticks do the same thing or is the right one perform the tasks of the C-buttons (but obviously not pressure sensitive).

Shall we take bets on whether or not it works well?

Probably Awesome: 0
Probably Blows: 1

EDIT: use the poll above to vote on this.

EDIT: Never edit (or delete) my posts. It infuriates me.

Do you like the N64 controller? You either like it or you don't, there is no in between here. You either wish it was a dual-shock controller/Saturn controller or you don't. This topic shall decide.

I'd rather have a Saturn controller -- even if it was the first version that didn't have the analog stick. When I was a kid I used to swing N64 controllers around and pretend they were a combination of a trident and a flail. To find a controller that irritates me more, you'd have to go back to the pre-NES days.

I often use astrology to figure out...

Wha...?

I can't speak for Rogue, but I believe what s/he meant was that this particular question's answer is so obvious that it can only be recognized by a non-sense joke. Similar questions would include "how can I tell if my N64 is turned on?" and "how can I see what game is in my N64?"

I've played over 700 hours of Perfect Dark with the same unlubricated controller and it didn't get worn down at all. It really does depend on the games you play and how rough you are with your movements. I think it's the fast circular movements that cause the most damage, with straight left/right or up/down movements having little effect. Even so, you should definitely lube up your sticks as soon as possible to ensure their longevity. I'd recommend taking note of the day that you applied the grease, so that you can do it again a year later.

... that's what she said!

N64 replacement controllers. It took me forever to find that. I had to go to Nintendo.com, select store, then select N64 accessories. Why would they ever put that page in such a strange, very difficult to find on your own, and completely void of common sense location? I'll never understand Nintendo.

One thing I found exceptionally odd about the beta prototype was the square-shaped indent in the analogue stick housing. Why would Nintendo even consider shaping the indent like a square, considering the stick is designed to be rotated 360 degrees in a smooth manner?

Well...

*Cue completely factual speculation*

My guess is that Nintendo didn't initially think about 360 degree movement. A square design is still essentially a D-pad, but with some sensitivity. That's likely how the idea was conceived. Or perhaps the square design was never intended for production, it was just there because something had to be there.

Or maybe Miyamoto was on vacation that week.

I was expecting something much better with a topic name like this.

While we're on this subject; I have encountered p0rn homebrews and dirty hacks for the NES, the SNES, the Genesis, and virtually everything else imaginable. There are some very naughty games for the DS. But I've never heard of anything like that for the N64. What gives?

Get a life, seriously...

Who is that directed to? It would have equal validity directed to pretty much all users of this site.

Oh come on, talking about boobs on squirrels? That's normal for you? Blimey.

No, it's the other way around: it's squirrels on boobs. And this is totally 100% completely on topic, thanks to Conker's Bad Fur Day.

("Boobs on squirrels," tehehe!)

I want that game.

I mean, because it's a dictionary, not because it sounds like gay porn.
