under the controller part of the n64 wiki article it states that nintendo released a new control with a fixed stick

wikipedia [URL=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_64#Accessories

There are various (some quite dubious) 'DIY' ways of mending a worn-out N64 analogue stick.[citation needed] The problem pads are actually only from the earlier part of the N64's life-cycle, as Nintendo introduced a newer model to address the issue. While not greatly publicized, and visually identical, the redesigned pads eliminated the premature wear-and-tear problem with the analogue sticks
does anyone have a controller from late n64 days?
if so can they prove if this is true are fake

Lubricating the stick means it lasts longer and wont get a loose stick as fast

I just stumbled across this video, and I thought you guys might recognize this 3rd party controller:

I seriously laughed when he said "With the Pointy things cut off"
Small question

My control stick has got a little looser, Would it be worth lubricating it?

AFAIK lubricating the stick only makes sense BEFORE any damage / wear has occured
I don't know if it's worth a try anyways, It is very slight, If I never played it before I would think it was normal
