The songs of Nick Drake have been recommended to me. I'd never heard of him before, but according to Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Drake ) he was a singer/songwriter, and he suffered very badly from depression and died in 1974 aged only 26. The song Life in a Northern Town, by Dream Academy was about him. He only made three LPs, Five Leaves Left, Bryter Layter, and Pink Moon. I've uploaded one of his songs (my favourite out of the ones I've so far heard), Northern Sky, from the album Bryter Layter, at: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BHC0JN9E What a tragic waste of such talent. And why isn't he much better known now? |
