Yeah my Torino was about that same color green although it seemed closer to the color of the new Mustangs. It had a 351 Cleveland, 2 barrel carb and automatic transmission; pretty fast car but not particularly quick off the line. It did look slick as it was a 2 door and I put air shocks on it to jack up the rear end. My all time favorite car was probably my 1987 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z which was fuel injected, turbo charged and intercooled. The little 2.2 liter engine put out about 175 horse power which was impressive at the time for a front-wheel drive car. |

Those turbo Dodges were total sleepers. My friend had a turbo LeBaron and that thing could scoot. My Cadillac is more than double the displacement at 4.5L but only puts out slightly more power. Probably half a ton heavier too... I miss my torino. 72 was the only year with that front end. They went to 'safety bumpers' in 73 making the car butt-ugly. |

My Gran Torino was actually given to me before my 16th birthday as a gift. At first I hated the front end but after a while it grew on me. I guess I was comparing it the Starsky and Hutch Torino which is probably the best looking overall of that body type. Another car I was fond of was my 1994 Mercury Capri convertible. It was an Australian built car with a Japanese engine sold through the luxury orientated Mercury dealerships here in the US.

Im a mustang guy and my daily is a 85 GT. Just has the usuals (exhaust, cam, gears, filter etc) but its getting a built 347 with a blower eventually. Also getting a 98 TA that needs a motor cause the PO put alot of nitrous through it. Gonna just put a stock 6.0 in it for now so I can drive it for the summer. Heres a pic of my 85 GT and my old 90 5.0 LX that I had (I have others but these are the only 2 that ive driven) ![]()

Thanks man. The 90 was nice but VERY boring (bone stock auto car with 2.73s) and the paint was pretty bad. Eventually an intake gasket blew out and i pulled the motor to redo it and ended up sellin it a couple months ago |

I've always liked the look of the 85 Mustang GT and yours looks especially nice with the aftermarket wheels. Yours is also in very good shape looking like it just needs a paint job to make it as good as new. Also, some clear plexiglass covers on the headlights would probably make it look even more modern. |

Thanks man! Yea it needs paint but it still looks pretty good considering its the original paint :D. Im also gonna put the clear covers on it along with different wheels, small cowl and a 93 cobra spoiler. Ugh dude that sucks! Edited by 85 GT Kid, Jun 24 2011, 06:41 PM.
