Hey guys, thought I'd start a thread dedicated to what everybody used to think about of the video game commercials in the 90's. I was a kid growing up throughout the decade, as were most of the N64/PS1/Sega Genesis generation, and there were some pretty crazy shenanigans coming out of that hulky TV set.

It was a "radical" time bro, and corporations like Nintendo, Sega, and Sony tried to seem like they were the edgiest hippest dudes out there on the block, claiming virtual reality experiences and making up words to capture kid's short attention spans. Funky colors would blast across your small tubular screen in shaky motions, as some punk teen would put his face against the camera and question if you were man enough to handle their product! Every ad had some rebellious or futuristic tone, next gen graphics were accelerating rapidly kids, you had to buy what was seen, or else you were a loser! No other question about it, the 90's video game commercials talked down to you and you loved every second of it, promising things you could only imagine in your wildest dreams, or could you? X_D Whoa.

Post any memories you might remember about certain commercials, what you remember stuck out, and if they managed to persuade you to buy any items. I have some pretty vivid recollections about mostly Sega and Nintendo products, even as an 8 y.o. I would think, "What is going on?!" when they slapped their stuff over Nickelodeon time spots. I'll kick this baby off with some clips that made me go WTF before I even knew what WTF was, so strap down and prepare to journey millions of seconds back in time to this magical decade.
:yeah:

To refine your tastes, here's a complimentary sampler platter:

Highlight 1: Sega Genesis "Buckle up you little wimp!"

Highlight 2: Playstation One "Seizures are fun"

Highlight 3: Nintendo SNES "Kiddie Apocalypse"

Highlight 4: N64 I really still don't know..

I actually cant remember any of the commercials but I did watch a few on youtube for the gameboys and thought they were classic lol. I think I vaguely remember the dude yelling "SEGA" in the commercials though (that video you posted jogged my memory lol).
