We really are in a God-awful mess as a world aren't we? I'm sitting here watching the Chancellor's Autumn Statement. I could really punch him in the face! I'm going to make a cup of tea and have a biscuit I think... Yep, it's that bad. Seriously though, my sympathies are sincere. It's a crappy thing to happen...

Basically, im attached to another object by an incline plane, wrapped helicly around an axis.

They most likely have a candidate lined up fresh out of college to work your job at starter level pay. I'm very sorry this had to happen to you, this is one of the most frustrating events in life. I've been thru worse situations and i will survive but it does get you down.

But like Cabanon said, 6 months is hopefully enough time to help you start preparing and hopefully (keeping my fingers crossed for you) to discover something else that will be equally as good - if not better. There are definitely worse situations, such as them giving you the minimum (at least here in the United States) 2 week's notice before making you walk. Keep your head up and start preparing... who knows, maybe you'll find something real quick.

BTW: it really is an insurance policy you have (it is mandatory) to buy into from your paychecks and the amount you have paid determines the length of your entitlement. But also: i actually like to work. Im just a single guy, no wife, kids or next of kin and a bit of a loner so work is a very large part of my social interaction. It does seem like you can't even make a complaint at work now without the fear of getting made redundant. I believe the British government are also trying to change the laws so that its easier for employers to get rid of there staff, i.e. less protection for the employee no matter how long you've been in the job for Its a really sad state of affairs at the moment. If you were able to live on Mars, I'd be on my way right now.
