Can an Ebay buyer really be this dumb?

So I sold a game on ebay (Donkey Kong Country Returns) It was the cheapest buy it now for a complete copy at the time it was listed. Someone bought it and paid instantly, and I shipped it off, all was going well.

This was at least a week and a half ago.

Then today, I get a message saying that he tried to ship it back to me, but it got returned to him, and he was asking where to send it. and I asked why he was returning it.

His reply was this:

"I found it at Costco for half the price."

Are you kidding me????? How stupid can he be? I do accept returns for 7 days, but not for stupid reasons like this, if the game was damaged or didnt work, then I would, but this is just ridiculous. What makes it even more stupid is that he just decided to try and send it back without even contacting me first.

Now I am expecting a negative feedback from this idiot :(

Yeah, EBay buyers can be pretty stupid at times. Now, while you have a return policy (I usually say that returns are only accepted if the product is defective, not as described, or arrives damaged) I think you can still dispute the negative feedback with EBay if he leaves negative feedback. What I would do personally if that happened to me, is fight the case like hell. Sounds like he already exceeded the 7 day return period, but also his excuse was really dumb.

Worst case scenario, if EBay does not rule on your side and says that you have to take the negative feedback - I would try to screw the guy as much as possible for messing up your feedback rating. I would hope that he ships the game back to you, without tracking or delivery confirmation, and then when it arrives - just lie and say you never got it. Then you don't have to refund him the money at all. If at that point he opens up a PayPal dispute, you can simply say that he can't provide any proof that he shipped it, and that he even left negative feedback on EBay after trying to return the product for a stupid reason. PayPal should (hopefully) rule in your favor and you will get to keep the game + his money... small victory for a negative feedback left on your EBay account.

I sound like the devil >:-] but I hate it when people f*** with you for stupid reasons like that. I'm willing to bet this seller has less than 25 EBay feedback or is a newer user. Mess with me, and I will scr*w you back, it's a dog-eat-dog world out there.

paypal always rules to the buyer. trust me, ive been there. even if you provide the best accurate description of your item you sold, the buyer intention, your discussion, they will alays f**k you over and let the buyer win the case.

ebay & paypal are getting annoying and ruins the seller experience since couple of years. its not even funny anymore. you have to deal wiht so many morons, scammers & bad buyers, its annoying. i try to avoid ebay as much as possible for selling my stuff just because i dont want to deal with stupid refunds, negative feedback & such. also the fees are getting higher and higher. it cost me 11$ this month for 1 item sold at 116$, thats 10%. + paypal also charging 4% or so fees. they're screwing everyone on every aspect. not so fun.
