The "headquarters and supply warehouse" of "Classic Game Source", one of eBay's largest video game sellers, is located not too far away from where I am, in the city of Titusville FL. My friend had made plans going out to Titusville this morning, so I jumped a ride out there with him, so that we could swing by the Classic Game Source HQ after lunch and some other stops. All went well today until we actually got to the classic game source.. Here's their ebay store: http://myworld.ebay.com/classic-game-source/?_trksid=p4340.l2559 Their ebay profile picture couldn't be farther from what the warehouse actually looks like inside, lol. Website: http://www.unitedgame.com/ This "company" is in the middle of nowhere. They're off a dirt road and don't have a sign. We were confused, it looks just like a chicken farm. We got out of the car, and walked up to this baby blue shack, shaped like an egg. One of the strangest structures I've ever seen. The building has no front, it's missing a wall that's covered up with a tarp and wire. There wasn't any indication at all that this place was related to video games, however after driving all the way out there we decided to investigate the place. lol. I thought we were going to get shot for trespassing on some redneck's chicken farm. But I was committed to get some games, lol. There were no signs of life, and right as we were about to leave I noticed a split open cardboard box inside. Upon looking inside the box I saw hundreds of games of various consoles, it was like a cheap dirty treasure chest. Finally I saw a shadow moving inside the place, and yelled out if this was the location of "classic game source?". Some guy who looked like he belongs to the Russian mob came out, and grunted what I wanted. Asked him if he was willing to do any trades, and he said "we're online sales only". Right behind him were boxes upon boxes stacked everywhere with different sharpie labels on them, boxes just thrown all over the place, no sign of organization, just heaps and piles of old soggy cardboard boxes riddled with games. It was just him and some other scary looking guy running this blue egg shack, with tons of video game merchandise scattered about. They really didn't want to do any trades, lol. After some talking I did manage to get some replacement parts and extension wires cheap, but its too bad they're not ready for on-site game sales because the amount of video game merch that's packed into that place is outrageous. My friend wanted to get some game boy color games, and he was standing right next to boxes marked "game boy" but they still refused to sell. My expectations were low to begin with, but I am still disappointed. lol So much opportunity there, hope they open up a place that sells in the future, or start a kiosk at the local flea market. They would do good business. Anyway just wanted to share that story, felt like I was in a horror movie going to that place, lol in the middle of nowhere in a deserted little shack. Yikes, think I'm gonna stick to ebay for a while..If you've got any game hunt stories that went bad feel free to write them below : Edited by TNT737373, Dec 6 2011, 03:21 PM.

OMG... i was more or less expecting it to turn into a gruesome chainsaw massacre! Glad you made it out alive My horror story: i was approached by phone to come & buy a large number of Nintendo carts at this address somewhere in the suburbs. I got on my scooter and drove off. On arrival i was greeted by a pack of vicious pitbull-like dogs behind a high gate, guarding the entrance of a glorified trailer. I hesitated for a minute before i opened the gate and thought "this cant be right, check the adress". And fair enuf, i had taken a left turn where i should have gone right and had ended on the wrong street. I did eventually make it it to the right address but those Nintendo catridges turned out to be Gameboy carts and i was very disappointed. The things we do, eh? Edited by Mk II, Dec 6 2011, 04:03 PM.

I recommend PNP Games. I've never bought anything from their online store or their eBay store, but their local retail setup is fantastic! I met the owner once, he's cool. Their warehouse is in an industrial park, not a chicken farm, so no worries there. ![]() http://www.pnpgamesonline.com/ http://stores.ebay.com/pnpgames |
