I think that you should purchase it.

i think you're right... to be honest i never expected this Japanese edition here in Holland so it is quite an opportunity.
but i'm Dutch and we're cheap by nature :D paying my own money for such trivialities always hits me where it hurts most (my wallet)
even tho i have more money than sense... go figure!

I too am Dutch. Boy are we considered cheap and yet I have some very nice (and expensive) pieces of my collection. I think the Japanese Console may be worth that much if it is minty. I do not know how they would come sealed as they were never wrapped, but it may have had a sticker. Even then-would you not want to open it to make sure it is complete? I would rather have it opened but in new condition :yeah:

shhh! dont spill the beans, we have carefully built up that reputation throughout the centuries and it gets us a lot of bargains :)
<dutch>leuk dat er hier nog meer kaaskoppen rondhangen bij de weg!</dutch>

Too bad my Dutch is not fluent, but I get the gist of the meaning! I live in Canada and was born here. We are deal seekers aren't we? My mon is Dutch and my dad is Ukrainian, and he searches for deals as much as my mom! I think this has truly helped me in my collecting-finding the deals is critical!

Nice! That is a lot of games!

On a collecting note I was able to get more Earthbound figures and a gold sealed n64 controller (official). I need to get going on some missing games!
Very Rare Boxed Australian Jungle Green Controller:

It looks to be in great shape too. I have one already and the seller said he will ship to North America. Bid away collectors if you wish - these are hard to find.

I wonder how he made the list and the rarities of the games. On his own? With friends? Consulted online? Probably everything

Wow MK! That looks excellent. Very neat.

Would it be possible to state if the games were special releases to Blockbuster? Also, would it ever be possible to expand this to all releases or will it remain simply for EUR releases? This is an excellent idea so thank you for undertaking it!

On the collecting side, I got a sealed gold ToysRUs official controller. Pretty beat up plastic but they are really expensive recently.

I'm missing 2 sealed accessories: the rumble pack and the RF switch. Been looking for those for the last few months as well with no success. You have that full set?

Unfortunately no I don't have those. I havent really been collecting those bits. Would love to be able to help as I know that feeling of the never ending search! :D
WOW Ninty that is one excellent collection! I am happy you shared images of your collection too.

The sealed accessories for the N64 are occasionally tough to track down but when they do pop up they usually sell for $30 or less in auctions. I do think the sealed RF was the last one I got and that was shear luck on ebay.

DDR if I am not mistaken you have an extra boxed smoke Japanese controller. I will send a PM as I am missing that one.

Cheers Lithium! Its a work in progress shall we say. Started collecting 2000/2001.

I must say though, your collection is awesome and just to let you know when the day comes and I visit Canada I am definately coming round your house to see that collection in person! :yeah:

That is fine with my Ninty - You live in Europe? I may have to swing by and see yours one of these days too if and when I get money to travel :P Also, do you have a youtube page?

I havent really taken photos of my collection in a while. I also re-organize it constantly and never seem to be happy with it. With a full time job, school, 3 sports 5 days a week, weddings and the like I wish I had more time for gaming! Speaking of which...I think I will do an unboxing video of the Daiei Hawks boxed controller since it just came in. To the collection room! *play batman transition sound*

I wanted to post some update pics of my collection after I reorganized my room so here they are.

I am quite certain I have the most complete N64 console collection out there in the world (all 16 known variations). There is another pic online of a lot of consoles but the owner is missing a few variations that I have.

I really like them too thanks! It is too bad they aren't still full :P I loved Smirnoff back in the day. Anyways, I thought the color changes were appropriate and made my gaming room look slightly less nerdy.

Checking local sale sites, garage sales, and retro game stores is the best bet in your home town. Oftentimes though they do not have the boxes or manuals so its part of the hunt

Thanks to ddr2nite i was able to add a rare Japanese Jusco 30th Anniversary controller to my collection and no less than 25 copies of the American "Nintendo Power" magazine, mostly covering the Nintendo 64 era. Plus a Japanese N64 fanny pack that wil hold a controller and a couple of games :)
MK congrats! I was wondering what are the last 3 consoles you need?

Believe it or not, there were 2 of them for sale in the past 3 weeks. I won the first one that showed up via auction bidding... then there was another one that had a Buy It Now. However the seller would only ship to Australia, and I e-mailed them (because I have a friend in Australia that could receive it for me) so that they could change the listing in order for me to buy it - but before they could, someone used the Buy It Now option :(

However the seller later listed the Jungle Green, and that time they had changed the listing in time for me to use Buy It Now... and now I have a much better box for that color :yeah:

Oh and 1 more thing Lithium... my AUS boxed transfer pack has the cardboard insert inside along with the paperwork, I think yours was missing those things 8)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/260873692090
Wow 2 of them within a short period of time... didn't really make a difference that I was swamped in school work :P

And I believe my AUS rumble pack had the cardboard insert but I might be mistaken...I just can't remember

Hey everybody!

I was on YouTube a few days ago, looking up GameCube controllers to purchase since my friends and I have worn about 3 down to near unusability. I ran into a Mario GameCube controller, which intrigued me a bit. So I did a google search for it. Somehow I wound up on watching lithium017's video comparing the blue's on GameCube controllers. I wondered how many controllers he had, and why he had so many. Then I clicked on another video, and I saw one of the greatest rooms I have ever seen in my life. (Seriously Lithium017... I really appreciate you uploading that stuff to YouTube. You are the inspiration for me taking on a whole new hobby!) Then I looked up more people on YouTube, and found you guys here! (I thought that was kind of cool. It made it feel like this is some well established secret group of elite collectors or something. Haha.)

haydendavenport, thank you so much for your kind words and I am happy to inspire others. Brodieman and my first collecting tip is definitely something to listen to: pick something you personally love.

As for going out to the local sales and finding nothing, it partially kills the hunt but saves gas and time if you are able to call ahead and simply ask: "Any Nintendo or gaming related things for sale?"

Consoles and controllers are dirt cheap - until you get to the level of the special Japan-only limited editions!
You mean like this one? I love  this Gundam Wireless Wavebird but cannot justify the price! :omg:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GameCube-Gundam-Char-Wireless-Controller-WaveBird-Very-Rare-Shipping-EMS-Only-/150801556962?pt=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item231c7925e2
Ninty I have been talking with that seller of the Gundam Char controller for months now, trying to see if he would accept a reasonable offer because his price is simply too high. No luck yet but the price is slowly going down.

Hayden, I can only really suggest craigslist, kijiji, ebay, forums such as this one and NintendoAge and local game stores / garage sales / flea markets

If you figure out how to explain what you are doing to the women in your life, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PATENT IT AND SEND 1ME SOME!!!
That made me laugh pretty hard. I assume you mean in terms of both collecting and going to video game Swap meets. My girlfriend of nearly 6 years understands my desire for the collection and actually shares interest in the items with me. She always teases me and says "What? Why don't you have 20 N64's and not only 19!"

The main thing is just showing your passion for collecting - I think it is difficult to question passion. Just let her know that you really like the N64 and it makes you happy to collect for it. The games are useable as are the controllers and systems (much unlike collecting baseball cards or model cars) so you are actually getting an experience with the games. On top of all of that, Nintendo is really the only console / game makers that have games which hold their values over many years. The demand for the games is still so high that a Mario Party for N64 still sells for $20 used, every time. So its a smart investment too. :yeah: :n64:
